Anyone else think UTD next week won't be a stroll. ?

Will definitely learn a lot more about Utd next week! If they can’t get up for a game against Liverpool they will be in even bigger trouble . (If that’s possible)

All the cliches about rousing themselves for their fiercest rivals didn't help them last season, their players don't care enough about Man U for "It's Liverpool! " to matter. We absolutely trounced them. Twice. Slightest bit of adversity on the pitch and the sulking and histrionics come out. Doesn't matter whether it's against us or not. And now that the fans don't have Ole or Rangnick to blame, the home support will turn on them as soon as anything goes wrong too.

We score first and they'll fold.

If we play well against Palace, I'll be confident we'll carry that into the Man U game and batter them. The only way we don't win is if we're off our best and give them a bit of hope and a foothold in the game.

I think they’ll be good and put up a good fight for the first 30 mins or even first half but second half I imagine we’ll massively take over the game. 3-0 is my early prediction.

I think all over the doomsaying over United is over the top to be honest. Everyone knew they were in a bit of a mess about a year ago and this summer they've had about 6 players leave on frees. The new guy has only been in for 2 official games and hasn't brought in many new players yet so of course they're not going to be anywhere near ready yet. It's going to take time but luckily for United they've got the money to rebuild. They're not in crisis, they're basically at the beginning of building a team.

If ETH can get them up for a fight, which is a tall order, it’ll be a tough game. We will be up for a fight but depends if it’s the fight we showed against city or the fight we showed against Fulham. But let’s deal with palace first!

I don’t think Palace will be a stroll either. If we don’t win tonight’s game then amazingly all the pressure will be on us next Monday and not Utd. If we take care of Palace tonight then it’s full steam ahead into the Utd game.

If we are fully focused and just play the game and put all the typical media hyped rubbish aside like we did last season, we’ll be grand. If we allow the occasion and media hysteria to get into our heads, we will struggle. That’s it.

If they play little Martinez at centre back, get Nunez on him right away and bully him out of the game. A little bit of an agricultural tactic, I’ll grant you, but he’s there to be dominated (and not in the kind of way that Frank Bough used to like nudge nudge wink wink) .

OP - who said it will be a stroll. Same as all the games l this season, last season and every other season, we should play as if winning this game will win us the league.

That said I’d die happy if we scored 10 including a Maguire own goal hat trick. I really hope ten Haag gives the back four that played against Brentford another chance.

No game is ever a stroll in the park really but I don’t think Manchester United demise is being over blown at all, they really are dreadful, there’s no direction at the club, that group of players is really poor, it’s a bit too early to measure the manager but I wouldn’t hold my breath.

Of course. They'll turn into peak Barcelona just like Fulham did. We have to earn the wins. 1-0 will do thank you very much. Same goes for tomorrow. Get the points on the board.

Really Babbity?

They’re at the start of a rebuild? There was me under the impression they’d been doing that for the last 5-7 years under Van Gaal, Mourinho and OGS? If not rebuilding then, wtf were they doing?

If Liverpool were in their situation I’m pretty sure it would be viewed as a crisis.

I agree, my fear is United will get their first points off of us. Don't think it will happen, but I don't think it will be as easy as some think.

I stand by what I said Saul. We've been in a worse position than United are currently a few times over the last 12 years. How many project restarts have we had? We've had Hodgson, Dalglish, Rodgers before finally Klopp since Rafa left. We had half a season's worth of Champions League football in 7.5 years. People forget that we were the laughing stock of football fans for more than half a decade. There were serious questions if we would ever challenge again. Many fans wanted FSG out and thought they were too frugal with how they ran the club. As I said, at least United have money to spend to help get them out of this slump. If we can get from those lows to where we are now, United certainly can too.
