Question for Ed001 please.
Ed who is your preferred centre back pairing from our current squad?
A friend claimed yesterday that we are interested in Skriniar of Inter, but I can’t see that being a necessity next summer or in January, your thoughts and is he a decent defender with a record of little injury?
I can’t help but feel Konate and VVD are the best pairing myself, but VVD is getting no younger and will only decline from here on.

{Ed001's Note - at one time Gomez and VVD were excellent together, but Gomez doesn't look to be fully back to anything like his best after the injury. So yes, it would be Konate and VVD for me too. They need to play together regularly to build a partnership.

Skriniar is an excellent defender, but I can't remember if he has injury problems or not. Whenever I see him play he always looks good though.}

If we're going for a centre back from Inter, its Bastoni for me, young, good on the ball, 18 months left on contract, left-footed left-sided centre back, natural VVD long-term replacement.
