Hate to be the grim reaper but we just have to enjoy the last few years of football resembling the sport we love

None of this is sustainable, the Super League is inevitable, franchise-style football and competitive leagues turning into exhibitions with fixtures played all over the world. I try not to think about the fees too much because it’s all heading in one direction, where the money is.

I reckon we’ve got another 10 years max.

On the contrary there is a possibility that a super recession is on its way. Will make the great American depression look like good times.
If it were to happen there will be a form of financial reset which will impact football.
Will go back to the times of £10k transfers which will get the best players.
Edd 33 might be more wiser to ask on this subject.

{Ed033's Note - Regarding football itself who knows as they would still need to keep the masses' minds occupied [re Yuval Noah Harari] with Bread and circuses.

Think you're right unfortunately Tom. Was talking about this with my dad earlier and I think if anything Saudi Arabia signing all this talent may actually speed the Super League along. We found it hard to actually name a sport that isn't corrupt and free of controversy. Tennis came closest.

Ohtobenegative there is always something "coming" and "we will see". Inevitably nothing actually happens. I'd take it all with a very big pinch of salt mate.

Love Yuval from what I have read, Sapiens and Homo Deus. Any of his others you would recommend Ed033?

{Ed033's Note - I'm not into Yuval's ideas.

Good point, Ed033, but I wasn't that keen on Carla Lane's work.
