The difference between David Johnson and Nunez is Johnson was competing with Keegan, Toshack, Dalglish, Fairclough, Rush, Gayle etc over those 6 years, scoring a goal every 3 games approximately, in a team that dominated nearly everyone else, with supremely gifted individuals feeding him balls, whereas Nunez is scoring about the same, has gifted individuals feeding him balls, is competing with Jota and Gakpo, but also has time on his side and psychologists and sports scientists to help him.

Johnson didn't have those, just Ronnie Moran, Fagan and Paisley telling him what to do.

Nunez is very instinctive and has great potential. If his confidence continually improves, he could make a great player. Confidence can be coached and instints can't be. My only uncertainty with Nunez is that he's still hitting the bar as much as last year and I can't get my head around why he's so unlucky! Or is there a reason?
