Biggest game of the season so far tonight. If we break the Real Madrid curse I will truly believe anything is possible this season. Last Liverpool manager to do one over Madrid was Rafa Benitez. Been far too long and we owe their depleted side a proper beating.

What a night that was. Yossi with the hat trick. Great times.

Mk i think tonight's game isn't even that big mate.
With this new format of the CL finishing top of the league gives you the exact same benefits as finishing 2nd-8th.

Am I the only one who completely forgot about that 5-2 loss last year? I must have wiped it from my memory. God I hope we can finally beat them.

Hears hoping MK. P. S. this business where you Europeans try control time means the match only kicks off at 22:00 for me. I always forget about daylight savings as we don't do it down here and the first week of it always goes the same. I sit in front of the TV ready to watch only to discover I'm an hour early. Still it could be worse I'm sure the Australian and fans in SEA end up watching at some horrendous times.

JK23, whilst that may be true, we cannot take it for granted that we'll win any of our games after the Madrid game in the Champions League. You go out to win every game until you're mathematically certain to qualify for the next round.
Also it would leave Madrid with 6 points from 5 games if we were to beat them which might force their already depleted squad into an extra play off round next year. If we ended up meeting them again in the final, I want them as tired as possible, and with us having a psychological advantage of having stuffed them already this season.

Mk 100% agree with you mate and I’m not saying that we field a weakened team or don’t take it seriously.
What I was saying is I don’t think it’s our biggest game of the season but there again we could easily argue that every next game is our biggest game of the season.
We could win tonight and then lose Sunday. I don’t think tonight’s result actually has any relevance on the rest of the season similar to how our 7-0 stuffing off Utd a few seasons ago didn’t catapult us to glory that season.
Beating Real tonight gets us the exact same points as we got against Leverkusen and the other 3.
I think I’m slightly nervous about tonight mate so I’m probably being over cautious.

Champions league kickoff times are always ok . Typically 7am in Australia and 9am in NZ. Unless you have the earlier kickoff which rarely Liverpool get.

It is horrendous in SEA though. Champions League kick-offs are usually at 3am or 4am here. The waking up early is bad enough but it's the fact that by the time the game ends, we'd need to already get ready for work is the worst.

Dracred - that’s our kickoff times for every other game except CL so I feel ya mate lol
Worse when we were in Europa league cos then our league games would typically be Mon or Tue our time. Horrendous for work days ?
Had this debate with someone else on Facebook who was basically hating on fans who can’t or don’t go to Anfield. and just gave up in the end. It’s the great thing about club imo having fans from all over the world experiencing the club in different ways but specific to where we’re from. Whilst it’d be a dream and still an ambition to get our family of 5 over the Anfield one day, for now we have to make do with sacrificing sleep to follow the greatest club in the world at awful times in the middle of the night ?.
