I am starting to think we should keep Kelleher and sell Ali, he is much younger, less injury prone and nearly as good.

Keheller is a very good goalkeeper, Alisson is the best though but these injuries seem a lot for a goalkeeper, we're very lucky to have Keheller, but we all know he is too good to be back up n think he will deservedly be a No1 for someone next season.

You are kidding. Alli is the GOAT of the keeper. Kellehar was excellent yesterday but Alli is on another level.

I love Ali and believe he is the best keeper in the world but Kelleher has been brilliant this season.
It would be a gamble selling Kelleher in the hope that the new Keeper is a better fit.

Kelleher, Alisson and Mamardashvili are all arguably good enough to be our first choice next season so I'm not particularly fussed with what decision Slot makes, but right now it surely has to be Kelleher in the driving seat. No keeper in Europe has outperformed him this season.
Last time we played Real Madrid our 5-2 capitulation was compounded by Alisson's weak decision making on the ball. Kelleher doesn't have the long range passing accuracy of Alisson, but he doesn't make rash decisions in his short passing game that cost us goals either. However, Alisson is the best shot stopper I've seen in my lifetime. Equally though, Kelleher is younger and not injury prone.
Mamardashvili is probably closer to Alisson's shot stopping ability than Kelleher, but doesn't seem to be much of a ball player. Not sure how it'll play out with him, but if he was bought to just be sold for profit that would be disappointing for me, because I hate clubs trading players like they're sub-human. He at least has to be given a chance in pre-season if you ask me.
Well, it's a great problem to have, but not one I'd want to call because either way it's going to upset somebody!

After the last few games I can’t tell you specifically what Ali is better at than Kelleher.
Ali is universally accepted as the best in the world and we are fortunate to have him he’s been massive for us but the fact we don’t miss him tells you everything you need to know about Kelleher.
Ali is only better than Kelleher because he’s done it for longer and has earned the best in the world tag. On this form though Kelleher is every bit as good.

The equation for me is simple: If Alisson doesn't want to committ beyond his current contract, we have to keep Kelleher. We can loan him out next season if Ali is going to hang on for one more. If Ali is happy to commit then we can sell him.
I don't understand bringing in Mamardashvilli to possibly replace Ali where there's question marks over his style (not his ability) and when we have Kelleher who does suit our style and is good enough.
At the very least if he does go, we need to negotiate a buy back.

Why would Kelleher accept a loan out somewhere?
In any other position on the pitch, if a player gets injured and the back up comes in and out performs them they have to fight to get back into the squad.
Look at G. Johnson when he got injured. A little known TAA came in and took his every opportunity, it was basically the end of Johnson's career at Liverpool.
Right now with the way Kelleher is playing Ali should have to come back and stake his claim again. I get he is considered the best in the world, but he can only be the best when he is actually on the pitch. I love Ali, and all he has done, i think he is the best in the world but there comes a turning point in every career and team cycle that there is a natural time to start to consider your options.
If you are suggesting Kelleher should be okay to come in and perform like he has and receive absolutely no appreciation from the club then maybe you can understand why he would want to leave.
You are literally saying, you can be No.1. but only when the guy you have played more games than and showed you can be less injury prone than leaves. So off you pop to a second rate team in the meantime.

It was Clyne that TAA replaced, not Johnson.
Allison is the best keeper in the world but his fitness is an issue. He misses too many games as a GK for my liking. Maybe it is his style of play but we need to look to address it soon.

Kelleher reminds me a lot of Clemence - possibly the only LFC keeper shaded out by Allison. I don’t think Kelleher has Ally’s ability to win a one on one with a striker, but who does? For me, they are the best 2 keepers we have had since Clemence.
