I have to say Michael Owen is seriously annoying me and I'm sure many others with his observations regarding Trent . The whole situation is getting ridiculous, why do the TV interviewers insist on asking Arne what is happening. I hope Trent will stay, but it is his decision.

He played for 5 different clubs and not one fans like him ???.

Disregard anything that Owen says, his input is irrelevant and not worth the time of day.

There was always going to be plenty of chatter when we got to Jan, and pundits can throw in their two pence for reactions.
As for Owen, on this he is actually someone who's made the switch. So arguably 'qualified' on the subject.
I think Trent is as good as gone imo, I hope I'm wrong but the money, sign on fees/ wages will be astronomical. Wed all say we wouldn't make the move as well never be in the position. If he does go, I hope it goes well but he's just another player at the club we all love and the show goes on.

All Michael Owen has to do is breathe and he annoys me.

WYred IMO, Trent has made no indication either way so Owen's opinion is not relevant here. To your point, this is indeed a media circus that RM has concocted to get this whole crap in the media sphere cos Trent said from jump that he will not have his furure played out in the media, something he has abided with till this moment. You think they thought they would get Trent for 20m in Jan with a PL and/ or CL title to be won? Come on, man. They know we would never do that yet they bid anyway. Pure gamesmanship, IMO.
The kid ain't talking for the reasons he has given so all we have is innuendo, speculation and "opinions" which amounts to white noise cos again, the kid ain't talking. Like you, I think Trent could go but that doesn't mean he will. We will have to wait and see.

I really don’t get the dislike for Owen. He was spellbinding when he first appeared on the scene, but I suspect fans never really warmed to him for 3 reasons: 1) He replaced Fowler, rather than compatible alongside him 2) He was often guilty of needing too many chances to score 3) The perception that he prioritised playing for England over his club.
For my money, he was a generational talent - but suddenly a hard fit for the way the game was changing:
Too small to lead the line, not creative, and not as ruthless in the box as an Ian Rush. But his emergence as an 18 year old was extremely exciting.

Monstersouness he was a proper bell end off the pitch. If you don't believe just ask Ed001 and some of the long term posters on here.

Owen was as clinical as they come at Liverpool, he didn’t need lots of chances to score. After he left and injuries caught up with him his form nosedived.
My dislike for him is 2 fold:
1) he played for Man Utd
2) In contrast to Trent and Mo and VVD and McManaman, Owen stung the club along saying he was going to sign a contract. He’d come out with lame excuses like his agent had lost his pen or his agent didn’t have a good phone signal.
In reality his agent was negotiating with other teams and Owen had no intention of signing.
Rafa knew about it and sold him for what he could get £8m and Antonio Nunez.

Arne is asked about the contracts about as often as someone posts on here about the contracts.
Seems there is interest in the contracts.

Owen and Macca don’t really bother me that much these days, the two of them are clearly still huge Liverpool fans (and macca was my favorite player when I was young, so)
Owen was a complete arse when younger though, that instructional video with him scoring pens repeatedly on a 17 year old trainee goalie and wheeling around anfield like he had scored the winner in a champions league final was the best visual demonstration of that.

Read that too Disney, guy played for Liverpool, Madrid, Newcastle and Utd and all their fans either hate the guy or just can't be bothered by him at all - tough to do that across so many fanbases though tbf ??
I agree with the points above, when he first hit the scene he was class, like a real breath of fresh air, why I dislike they guy:
- wanted to be the main main at Liverpool so wanted Fowler out - he hated that Fowler was just so beloved by the fans and wanted that adulation for himself, never got it and you see in interviews he is still annoyed about the lack of love he gets. He was the key one behind getting Fowler out of the club
- picked on the youth team/ younger lads at his time too. Always liked to gamble and would 'encourage' these players to bet thousands in card games. That was nothing to him given his wages, but was massive to those players back then. Senior players warned him about this sort of stuff at the time
- seemed to be all about himself and looked to prioritise England over the club - possibly as he thought it better for his profile competing internationally?
- went to Madrid after stating he would stay. Gave his reasons as wanting to win the European Cup and, as karma does, we won it after he left. As Barry said, the excuses etc he gave at the time were just awful
- joined Man Utd. I mean come on! Still, to this day, would often use words like 'us' and 'we' when talking about Utd and then wonder why Liverpool fans don't fall at his feet?

Owen is paid to give his opinions.
I've not much time for him but he and his opinions don't really bother me.
