How do you all feel about the team being on holiday when the season is still running?
I know that it probably makes sense. The league is won and if we can ease off early and, by doing so, put the players in a better position going into pre-season and next season, then it makes sense. But it's still irritating me a bit. I hated our performance against Chelsea and the fact that we gave them three points that could be the difference between Champions League or not for them. And I really wanted to beat Arsenal. As soon as the league was secured, I expected we would go on the p155, either literally or metaphorically, for the rest of the season, lap up the guard of honour each match and then turn in sub-par performances.
{Ed025's Note - a good result against Arsenal I feel RR. After all they are the best team in Europe apparently mate ?..

The players need a rest and they deserve it - no one remembers how you won it all they remember is that you did win it. I hope that they get a good rest, relax and come back stronger next year - the fact that we can enjoy this rest is not our fault.

I don't actually think they went on the piss, in actuality against arsenal slot was trying different things tactically that may point the way towards how we will set up next year. There's a great tactical deep dive on the game on redmen TV.

For me, they earned their early break by winning the league as early as they did. I would like for them to still turn up and put in effort during matches though, which they did against Arsenal. It was the only Chelsea match where they were clearly still partying.

Yeah, Ed025 surprised we were lucky enough to get a result against Arsenal since they are after all the greatest club in the history of European football. RR, at the end of the day, it really doesn't matter, but personally, I don't think it's a good look.
{Ed025's Note - the job is done Stone and the trophy on the mantlepiece mate, even the mighty Arsenal cant change that.. :)

Good one there Ed25. Arteta sure is one funny guy. Its a good result for us, considering the players and manager are already in holiday mode.
{Ed025's Note - yeah Mfahmee they were playing in flip-flops mate...and who can blame them..

No issues with it as long as it doesn't drag into next season which I doubt it will.
You are not champions often, and at the end of the season you all go your seperate ways for internationals etc so time to celebrate is limited if you win it on the last day or a game to spare. So the occasions to celebrate like this are few and far between.
I know people get hooked up on points, but in 3-4 years no one is going to remember that figure but they will remember making it 20 so why not enjoy it! As long as we hit the ground running in August, the boys can party away. Hopefully it fuels the fire for the next one.
{Ed025's Note - im with you WYred..

@25, I saw that they are keeping Goodson for women’s football - my immediate thought was ‘business as usual then’ - what d’ya think ?.
{Ed025's Note - great idea for me WDW, we are going to be top of all types of leagues in the near future mate so where more fitting than "the old lady" to be the iconic home of or Ladies?..its just like a divorce after 133 years...and the woman gets the house.. :)
