Everyone goes on about Isak and his hamstring niggles

But Wirtz has had two ACL injuries already.

He has had one, my friend.

No he hasn't. Why make stuff up?

If you check his injury history on Transfermarkt:

He did his ACL in March 22 which led to him missing 266 days and 43 matches (Bayer and Germany) .

Between Dec 22 and Mar 25 he only missed a total of 6 games across 2.5 years.

He had an MCL injury (different ligament) in Mar 25 which required 30 days to recover from, missing 7 games.

2 separate injuries, one much more serious than the other, the more serious one being one he recovered from 2.5 years ago.

Wirtz has missed 13 games in the last 3 seasons because of injury, Isak has missed 39.

Err @Fowlher81, Wirtz only has one ACL injury and that was 3 years ago or so and has played a ton of games since he recovered.

Many on here are fawning for Isak and man has missed tons of games in the same period.

I hope and pray that Wirtz doesn't do all three ACLs.

Fowler81 sounds like a bitter Blues supporter bored with Ben Doak rumors this summer.

Christ Chiesa did his acl 3 years ago in 2022 and he’s defended for still recovering from the injury.

So Which one is it?

Take the point @JK, but Wirtz exudes confidence and has a bit of a swagger about him. You’d never think he’d had a major injury by looking at him. Chiesa doesn’t exude confidence. I’d love to see him get a clear run of a dozen games were he scores a few and sets a few up and see what that does for his (playing ability) self confidence.

Wirtz is in the same phase of recovery from a serious knee injury as VVD. Just from watching him, it appears he is mentally in a good place and is playing free from fear of re-injuring his knee. Doesn't mean he won't get another injury, but it looks to me like he has physically and mentally recovered

The difference with hamstring injuries, especially if they're recurring, is that they can become quite limiting for players who rely on their movement and speed. It's a difficult injury to manage.

Wish we were going all out to try convince Alvarez instead of Isak. Not a fan of Isaks injury record.

WDW I agree mate and Chiesa played 30 plus games in Italy season before last.

So personally I think it’s clear that it’s Slot doesn’t rate him over he’s still recovering from an injury.
