Personally I thought giving Salah a contract was a mistake. He was never going to replicate last season's form and should have been allowed to leave. Especially given we have a number of players who can play on that side, who do also put the work in defensively and would also play more like the orthodox winger that we clearly need for Hugo/ isak

But Salah crying in the press is something the club shouldn't tolerate, a distinct lack of respect to the club that just gifted him a contract which he's currently not earning at all. I'm not a big slot fan either but it's not a players job to slate the manager in the press, its literally bad for everyone involved.

Pick a Liverpool manager from the past and none would put up with it except maybe Roy or Brenda. Salah should be reminded he plays for the club, not the other way around.

I’m in the know, I’m in the know. I said Salah was going to bench slot today and it happened.

According to a few websites I've looked at Iraola is sat on under 2m per year in wages meaning we'd not have to pay much to get him out of the club. He's stated he's ambitious and wants a bigger club.

Even Carragher said on the Overlap the other day he thinks he's the next big one to make a jump. Style is very similar to ours. I'd be making contact and bringing him in.

Fully expect Brighton to beat us at home next week too.
VVD and Konate are both liabilities along with Macca in the middle, and Bradley at RB.

The results are absolutely unacceptable. All involved are worthy of criticism. But I think what’s worst of all right now is the poisonous atmosphere within the club. The conflicts and divisions have to end. Unity is strength. Everyone—the players, the coaches, the staff, the supporters—must remember that.

Agree totally, start of the season it was the players, now its the manager, tonight to some its Mo. other teams fans must be laughing their heads off at us.

Leeds fans singing about Yorkshire Police was a disgrace, this should be reviewed by the authorities.
Salah is trying to push Slot out with that interview, he is creating divide and let’s be honest, there is clearly a disconnect between the manager and the players, time to go Arne, thanks for last season but your way out of your depth.

Don’t want Iraola though, we are in the 💩 deep.

I know that this is not possible, or I'm led to believe, but IMO I would move all and every obstacle and employ Jurgen until June. We're in a very bad place and only a welcoming and iconic figurehead could restore some much needed morale and courage.

BOTH parties are fully aware of what they are getting. In the interim find the next needle. Over to you LFC.

Who comes in then Hughes? Only top manager that would be interested that Carra mentioned was Inzaghi. None of the top ones would come now. Iraola is the obvious choice. Fits everything the club wants and warrants a chance at a top club.

Agreed on the Leeds chants. Disagree on Salah. This is his response to being a bit sh*t for the last few months? Really? Nope, not good enough for £400k per week. Time for him to leave.

Divide between players and Slot, so Slot has to go? How about we don’t make assumptions on who is the wrong?

Maybe they’re all in the wrong and this is a revelation of what the team, coaches and players have been dealing with in the background.

Salah should be out the door first imo.

I’m glad Mo has come out and started the ball rolling. It’s not very Liverpool like but I’m glad he has. I’m getting Rodgers vibes from slot. He seems to have an answer for everything but no solution. He really has scapegoated certain players I’ve read tonight he supposed to have said konate is always at the scene of the crime? that's not very Liverpool like either. It doesn’t seem he got any skills in man management either. He has undone all the great work klopp done in building his 2.0 team. The difference between a world class manager and low level coach and dof.

I think Hughes will be covering his arse now and sharpening his knife someone will be going. I would never really back a player against the manager but in this case I do. Mo’s done it all worked with some of the best coaches he knows the score. His legs haven’t gone stupid tactics he’s been stifled as has the team this year, even tonight the refusal to cross the ball into the box and then pass it backwards was mind blowing. I think alladice would get a better tune out of us than slot.

Salah is a goner.

Spot on with all of that, mate. We're in a real rocky period right now but things will come good eventually, we just have to wait. The sooner we see the back of Slot the better.

The players clearly aren't happy, we need them to be the unit we know they can be again and push forward but under Slot? it's not going to happen. Delaying it just means we will continue to grind out sh*t results.

I dread to think where we’ll be by January if he’s still in charge.

Nope, Mo needs to be acting like the adult here rather than like a baby,

Really poor time for the whole club with the latest result and these comments from Salah.

I must say though I am surprised to see some skating him, while it may not be the most healthy and productive thing for the team or the squad, if we believe what he has said and he has had a complete breakdown in relationship and communication with the manager and the club as a whole then I don’t see the issue is voicing this as how else will it be understood outside of the club.

Also for those who are saying the treatment is fair and it’s his own fault for playing poorly and maybe not hitting the same heights as last season he definitely isn’t alone in that.

The comments about not tracking back and effort are completely and utterly pointless as this whole point was brought up multiple times last season and slot was more than happy to reveal it was his tactical approach that allowed salah this freedom and it was hailed as I master stroke in saving salah from working back to keep him as fresh and effective at the other end. We can’t this season then completely slaughter salah for doing the same thing he did for the entirety of last season under the managers instructions and was praised for.

Also in terms of his quality and effort, yes he has been really poor, but I wouldn’t say any worse in attitude, application, effort or outcomes than Van Dijk, Konate, Gakpo, Isak and Mcalister and all of these are still playing regularly.

Let’s be honest most of us thought that Slot would have been sacked weeks ago and what’s happening now is the repercussions of it not happening. Slot has lost the dressing room 100% and it’s clear to see. Slot and back room staff are making ridiculous decisions like play Konate every game. Isak instead of Ekitike.

Tactics and sub are bizarre to say the least.
I think the best way forward would be for slot to be removed because no matter what he does now the players are not going to play for him. Just start a fresh before the transfer window open so the new manager can buy who ever he thinks we need.

We can say Salah's unprofessional and selfish if we like and as a rule I don't like players airing their dirty laundry in public. But dropping him has done f all to improve things, hasn't it? It hasn't turned Konate into a competent defender, sped up the tempo of our attack, given Gakpo a left foot, or allowed Kerkez to overlap and whip balls into the box.

So maybe, just maybe, it might be the coaching?

07 Dec 2025 01:38:43
The biggest decline for me is VVD I think he has been dreadful this season, alongside Konate he is equally a liability week in week out.

Why does Salah’s situation need to be understood outside of the club? Sounds like the sort of thing that needs to be addressed in-house, not through the media.

I don't even know what to say, I watched the first half and up until the second goal went in and had to switch off as work was needing my attention, I wandered off and thought wow there's no way we let this slip, naive I know.

I turn on the game again to find it's at 2-2 and think to myself ah well normality for this season has resumed. Only to then feel a sense of guilt for not believing in us and yo my amazement we are back to 3-2, the joy and praise i was thinking for this team to perhaps have finally grown some cahones and fight for the win.

To then ignore my job and watch the rest of the match only for us to once again let the lead slip.

This is a result that I can't swallow this wasn't 2 nil down to fight back to 3-3 this was complete incompetence and not just from the manager.

The players are scared, scared to lose and scared to win. Slot can go because it can't get any worse. When the game was at 2-0 last season we would shut up shop and control the game.
The belief has gone, the fight has gone, I stand by my last post that slot has slowly over the past 16 months undone everything this club has built up since fsg took over.

We are not the same team but instead a group of individuals only thinking for themselves and not the good of the club and the team egos are showing, salah mouthing off to the press is just the beginning if a change isn't made. I Love our club im proud of my club but I will not blindly follow the clubs decisions without worrying, and what worries me the most, is that from top to bottom nobody at the club seems to be showing any form of comprehension or understanding of the problems this group of individuals is currently facing. Especially when so many outside of the club are able to see the issues.

Throwing money in January will not solve this apparent conundrum, tactics will stay the same, training will stay the same.
Fresh ideas are needed even just to get a bounce so we don't end up in relegation at this rate.

I don't understand why McAllister isn't in the conversation, suddenly gone from midfield warrior, to powder puff. He comes on and suddenly leeds walk through us. He's been as bad as konate but as he's in midfield his lack of impact is more hidden. Watch the match back and watch how he avoids tackles, trots around and does nothing. Yet slot picks him week after week. The one game he drops him to the bench, we are two up and cruising, he can't help himself and brings him on and leeds walk through us over and over.

I don't blame macca, form and confidence are personal, but consistently picking out of form players (McAllister, kerkez, KONATE and Salah) speaks volumes. Time to pack up and go home to your family. It was great while it lasted but you've overstayed your welcome.

" i don't have to go everyday fighting for my position because i've earned it"

Wonder what shanks or paisley would have made of that eds

If Mo is prepared to look at himself he knows his effort this season has been nowhere near acceptable and i'm not talking about his form.

I've been AS biggest critic this season but he has every right to bench him to try something different. In life when we travel over troubled water we find out about people.

Roll your sleeves up Mo and fight for us we need your help.

If AS continues to make poor descions for the club he will fall on his own sword, its not for players to start calling out the club.

Read the full post he also says '" I'm not bigger than anyone", there's a lot of edited posts flying about.

Neither Slot nor Salah have done anything this season that warrants the Moaning and Drivel that’s spouting from their mouths.

Both should be embarrassed, both should shut their mouths, both should be trying to put this Disgrace right.

06 Dec 2025 23:40:38
He has literally explained why any manager would not be able to pick him. He spent most of last season publicly demanding a new contract, and is now fuming that his ego fuelled performances have wrecked his team…. maybe put in the hard yards Mo if you are being paid more than anyone else?

 2

06 Dec 2025 23:45:24
Sorry Mo, there’s an old adage on football - you’re only as good as your last (previous) game.

Personally speaking, Mo has been poor for the majority of 2025.

 3

06 Dec 2025 23:45:56
Agree 100%. Speaking as one of Mo's biggest fans.

 3

06 Dec 2025 23:59:56
Well at least Slot is still doing his best for the club. Whether his best is good enough is up for debate, but Mo is clearly no longer helping: the most selfish player I have ever seen wear our shirt, on a great new contract, but feels entitled to play games, and not earn the right. Most unpleasant LFC 11? He plays up front.

 2

07 Dec 2025 00:59:43
If not Mo last season there wouldn’t be a Trophy last season.
Honestly if anyone is thinking Arne Slot is a world class coach is out of their mind, he is indeed Brenden Rodger part 2. The poker face and egoistical interviews say it all, this manager can’t turn anything around.

Liverpool have been very good to Slot.
Somebody asked what Shankly or Paisley would say - what sort of comparison between Slot and Shankly? If the managers are serial winners and leaders, no player would come out and say in public. unfortunately slot isn’t one.

07 Dec 2025 02:11:55
That full sentence is “I’m not bigger than anyone, I just earned my position”

He’s having a sook.

Just like he had a sook during the contract saga.

For so long I’ve just hoped Slot would turn things around but things are going from bad to worse. I don’t think the club are just going to suddenly changes things, I’d imagine after Brighton maybe as there’s a full week.

Disappointed in Salah, but what did they expect to happen play him every minute and then just bench for 3 games making out like he’s the problem.

At the point where it might be best for them both to leave, I hope the club don’t wait too long to pull the trigger.

Although nobody is coming to mind who I could see as a real viable replacement.

06 Dec 2025 23:15:30
Only one that should leave is the deluded slot.

 2

06 Dec 2025 23:20:38
I think if the club wanted Iraola they could make that happen. His contract is up at the end of this season so the payoff I don't think would be substantial. Eds would it be paying off his contract or can they ask for more?

 1

https://liverpool-rumours.co.uk/uploads/thumb_Ed001.png avatar{Ed001's Note - that would depend on a number of things. For instance, do they hold an option on it to extend it or is there a break/buyout clause in the deal. It might even have a specific clause relating to a price to be paid if another club comes in, which could be substantially more or less that paying it off. Without knowing his exact contract details, I don't know. Hughes should do though.}

 2

06 Dec 2025 23:28:23
Honestly not sold on Iraola, probably be an interim till either summer or till Madrid fold to player power and get rid of Alonso.

 3

06 Dec 2025 23:41:12
Would u expect Bournemouth to do business with us during the season or wait until the summer?
