Ok I don't want to be that guy that complains cus we didn't win and we didn't sign anyone but it would be great if we had a genuine treat from the bench who Salah was worried about and maybe gave him though to stop being so selfish in a game! I hate how greedy he's become!

Mane Mane Mane our best attacking player. Salah has only been back a week give him a break he did a lot of good things.

Origi is a threat from the bench, shaqiri can produce moments, Lallana was good off the bench too. Oxlade and Keita add creativity, need I go on? Matip scored.

He's too greedy it's a team game and philosophy the managers trying to install in the players! It could become a problem he knows he's starting every game: hope I'm wrong.

Striker in being greedy shocker.

Salah is Salah, you can't change him. Yes there were moments when he should've passed, and there will be more, but the point is what he does overall. He scares defenders and will score 20+ goals every season. Since when is that a bad player to have in your team? Salah's a terrific player and with Bobby and the rest? Oh yeah, that reminds me. Sadio's comin.

I actually disagree he is selfish. Salah is confident in his own ability, and backs himself to score over his teammates. We can not deny we have a team full of players who are not clinical in front of goal.

Salah has the ability to asses the situation under pressure, and will pass or shoot if he trusts the person in a better position. As Firmino plays as a false 9 most of the time, Salah is usually the furthest forward and shooting is the only option, as was true in most of the game and most of last season. Origi and Firmino just didn't make the right runs in the box today to be available to be picked out. Just as when Mane is in the box, 9 times out of 10 he is the furthest forward and will shoot. Salah creates the most chances in the team by a long way.

Even I get annoyed when he takes a snap shot when he has more time then he realises, but we have such high standards for him and its unfair to call him selfish. We are lucky to have a player with such ability. I would love to see him play off a regular striker, and not have the burden of being the main goal scorer. On another positive note, Firmino was so good today, his tricks and turns looked amazing and were so effective. We missed that in parts last season.

ever since his shoulder injury, he's been a slightly different salah. However, I saw the old salah today except he missed a lot but he had soo many chances which is the important thing. Its basically his first pre season game so i can overlook him failing to score.

{Ed0333's Note - Salah was on fire yesterday and bloody hell did he look good. He’s clearly decided his patented come inside on the left foot and curl it into the top left corner finish is too obvious and now he’s trying to beat the keeper at the near post as we saw with a few of his chances yesterday. I’m all for him varying it up as he was being a bit dimensional for my liking last season. He has to start passing though as I can see that becoming an issue with his teammates.

to be fair, this isn't really any different to how he has been since he arrived on merseyside. Altho I tend to agree there are passes on that would lead to an easier chance if he played it.

Salah is banging in 30 this season. He was electric yesterday, if a little greedy at times. The most dangerous player in the league.

I posted this some time back - Salah isn’t the most clinical finisher in the world (he’s certainly good, but not aguero good. ) however the thing that sets him apart is he’s almost unplayable and creates so many chances it’s incredible so he almost inevitably impacts games.

I agree he needs to be a touch less selfish at times though. Whenever he gets into dangerous positions but is heavily marked so the shot is a low probability one, I’d rather he was a bit more patient and waited for the run from deeper to create a high quality opportunity (a bit like the ball for Keita, where he should have scored) rather than always take the shot regardless.

I thought Keita had an excellent game BTW, and his willingness to run at the defence caused indecision about whether to sit deep or step up, creating chances for the forwards to get in behind. Before he came on, City could afford to simply let Gini and Hendo play the ball around and focus on our front 3.

Yeah Salah looked back to his best for me. I reckon he'll have another season like his first for us. 40+ goals incoming. Never seen a player look that fit so early in the season. He made so many sprints and take one right up until the dying seconds and then still had the legs to cooly plant in one of the best penalties of the shootout to.

He looks like he's fired up. So much so I just changed my whole fantasy team around to get him into it!

The Salah I saw vs City last night is not the Salah we saw last preseason or beginning of the season. The Salah I saw was as the Ed put it, on fire. The guy is oozing confidence and was IMO, in midseason form already and has only been back for a week. He shlould have been a bit more team-oriented cos the chances were there to try something else BUT that said, he is raring to go and did I also mention that we have The Sadio Man himself, coming back with grit and determination after seeing hos]=w sharp and frightening Bobbie and Salah were last night?
