Arsene Wenger: "I like him (Salah) and Mane but you forget the guy who sacrifices himself is Firmino who works for the team, works for everybody and gets them to shine and this piece of jigsaw is difficult to find. A striker who is generous. "

Bloody right as well!

Morning Salah and all. Well here is my honest opinion lad's for me the loss of Bobby would be more detrimental to the team than the loss of Mo.

You might be right Barry but you will still need to find 25 league goals per season, good luck with that.

Yea but when we signed mo we didn’t expect him to score as many. So there might be another player out there who can do the job in our system, nobody knows until he leaves and we get new player in.

As Ed001 alluded to below, the current system works because of the collective skill sets and efforts of the others and we should appreciate that fact.
I was thinking of a comparison with the Rodgers front 3 of Suarez, Sturridge and Sterling, which I loved. But it was a more chaotic, off-the-cuff system largely driven by a competitive dynamic between Suarez and Sturridge.
It was hugely enjoyable because we never knew what was going to happen but it did seem to rely more on individual brilliance than a collective pattern.

The 3 forwards are truly outstanding players in their own right, they all bring different qualities. Lose any of them and Liverpool would find it difficult to replace. 3 hard working forwards in a team is awesome.
I've commented on Salahs greed at times but would hate to lose his goals, as Salah, Mane and firminho are equally important for the system Liverpool play.

Mo and sadio would be really difficult to replace, firmino would be impossible, absolutely adore the lad, a one of a kind player hitting his prime.

07 Sep 2019 19:46:39
I don’t think the front 3 are in competition with each other so we shouldn’t put them in competition by saying how more important 1 is over the others. All 3 are doing amazingly well and could be argued as being world class individuals and most definitely world class as a collective 3. Can we not just leave it at that.

Salah and mane never hit over 15 goals in a season before us, whilst I’m not saying they aren’t top class or very hard to replace, there must be something right about what Klopp and the style with firmino is helping them do.

This isn’t to slag Bobby off as I think he is a fantastic player and when the 3 play together they are the best in the world in my opinion. But Last seasons stats Bobby had 7 assists in the premier league. Mo and Sadio scored over 40 goals. Bobby missed the following games Watford and we scored 5 (Mane scored 2), Huddersfield we scored 5 ( Mane 2 Salah 2) Newcastle 3 (Salah scored 1) and Wolves 2 (mane 2). What he brings to the team is great but I think it’s a massive injustice to make out that Mo and wouldn't be the players they are without him.

JK23, I fully agree that it is naive to thinbk Mane or Salah would not be as good s they are now / o Bobbie. These two guys are supremely talented naturally and I think they were already very good before they came to us. I remember Mane coming to us 3 seasons or so ago and all we knew was that he had lightening pace and trickery on the wings and could score goals. The rest of his game? No one really knew.

Now, Mane is three times the player he was when he came to us. Same with Salah. He was already very good for Roma and the whole club (the manager Spaletti and Edin Dzeko esp. ) were sad to see him go. When he started, he was scoring goals BUT was missing too many. Then he improved and was scoring for fun.

Bobbie has a diff. skill set that ONLY a Robert Lewandowski possesses as a CF, IMO. Bobbie is a facilitator due to his inate ability to play the no.10 while being a no. 9. This has helped Mo and Sadio to flourish and vice-versa hence, that is why our front three is the best on the planet, IMO. s for who would be easily replaceable, I would pick Salah. Why? I just feel like since Salah became who he became under Klopp, why can't we get in someone who can be just that under Klopp? Bobbie is irreplaceable and Mane is the better all-round forward.

Jk23 those games you list without bobby are not a great example to use to make your point. First of all a couple of salahs goals were penalties, Huddersfield and Watford were set up as lambs to the slaughter, we were shocking against Newcastle and wolves last day had nothing to play for. I'd be more interested in the other games he missed. 2 goalless draws with Everton and United we felt his loss badly. First leg against Barca, first half against Porto and Burnley, he changed both those games coming on at HT. He won the psg game as a sub, changed the super cup game. Watford, Huddersfield, Newcastle and wolves could easily have been smashed with him playing too.

Har I think you’re missing my point mate. I’m not trying to slag bobby off I’m just pointing out that Mo and Sadio aren’t actually useless without him. A penalty goal is worth the same as a 35 yard screamer. The key point for me was they scored over 40 goals and as good as Bobby is I’m sure Mo and Sadio had a big part to play in them 40 odd league goals themselves.

Yeah you're right JK23 I'm sure salah and mane would still be dangerous but I think firmino plays a huge role in their success other than just assists for example. When he purposefully drops deep or drags a CB wide he is assisting salah and mane in leaving them central spaces to make diagonal runs in behind. They've always looked stifled when origi or sturridge played centre forward as they don't offer that selfless intelligence that firmino does.

That is why I think his importance is so much more value than his number of goals or assists suggest. Higuain could get you 25 or 30 goals a season and someone like Bergkamp might only get 12-15 but his overall game offers more to his team.
Sorry haha I just love Firmino and what he offers.
