Roberto Firmino - What a player. Does anyone really think Salah and Mane would score as many goals without him?

Utter genius, ArAy. He was flaunting his abilities today. So glad he's ours.

Best No.9 in the League if not the world, he is our most important player imo. Great result today against a tough steve bruce side. YNWA.

Bobbie is just clowning opposition players right now. It is outright insane the things he is accomplishing on the pitch. His abilities as an attacking talent, are just unreal and second to none.

He was actually such a joy to watch wasn’t he. The type of player you will tell your kids about in years to come

Red Sandman.

It's actually amazing. Forwards and strikers thrive on open spaces and one-on-one situations. Yet this man is at his best in closed spaces and surrounded by players; and somehow usually finds a way to pass the ball on to the open man for a goal. Completely selfless, is happy when others score as much as when he does.

He's gone up another level this season. Keep him fit and he'll continue to rip teams apart in this Form. I think we're the best team in Europe again, can't wait put that Napoli performance right.

The commentator said "champagne of football from Firmino". Exactly!

14 Sep 2019 19:44:14
Forget about the number on his back because he might not score as much as some number 9s, but in our team, the way we play he is some player. So unselfish, a real team player and vision that you don't learn on the training ground. Quality.

But guys, like, Bobby's good but he doesn't score enough goals. We could get a 'natural striker' like Greedy Kane and play Bobby at no. 10. That'd work better and wouldn't disrupt the team balance or anything. Not even a little bit. (sarcasm, obviously)

We have the best front three in world football, they all compliment and understand each other. Right now, I wouldn't swap any of them for any player.

That's all other fans say about bobby, how many goals does he score? They don't see what he brings to r team. He completed changed the game today when he came on.

As for today's match, I worry about trent defensively at times. He wasnt great today but I think that could have been down to ox not covering him at times. Hopefully the ox can regain his form again, he looked a mile off it today. Great win though today, we didn't get out of 2nd gear. sitting in airport waiting on my delayed flight home from liverpool as I write this. YNWA.

we need to be patient with the Ox, he has been out for a very long time, let's be fair the Newcastle goal was a hell of a finish, we started sloppy but once we scored there was only going to be one winner.

roro1892 i don't think trent and AOC were all that poor. For the goal Trent had to shift over to Atsu in the centre as VVD and matip were after getting sucked too far left and Trent then had no choice but to tuck in. When the ball went to willems a left footed FB with no options in the box Trent just tried to stand him up which was sensible choice but willems unexpectedly cut into weaker foot with quick touch and struck a rocket. If he strikes that over the bar or into Adrian then trent doesn't get criticised. He wasn't really caught out much all game to be a worry.

AOC looked quiet impressive I thought barring a few poor touches as he's still rusty I'm sure. He covered a lot of ground and his pass rate was in the 95% bracket, he didn't look out of place.

AOC looked impressive? U watched a different game from me mate. He was running about like a headless chicken at times.

Roro, calm down with Ox and Trent. Ox is still trying to get up to speed and TAA did what he was supposed to do cos he had Atsu and Willems to deal with cos Matip and VVD got sucked in on the left, as Har_red92 said. As a FB, you are coached to go and mark the inside man (Atsu) cos he is the closet to goal and leave the wide man (Willems) open and hope that the cavalry arrives as it is harder to score from where Willems was (out wide) than where Atsu (thru the middle ) was.

Trent was able to see off the danger of Atsu and went one on one with Willems. Again as a FB, you are coached to show him the inside on his weaker foot which TAA did BUT I'm sure even you did not know he would fire a belter from there with his weaker foot.

BTW, the very same thing happened with Robbo when Krafth was open for NUFC and blazed over. Robbo took the inside guy and with Gini not picking Krafth up, he was free to shoot. Simple defending, really. Chill out, man.

Red wolf, I'm hardly slating them. I said I worry about trent defensively at times didn't even mention the goal. Other teams must worry about this as most of their attacks go down the left wing.

Aoc I said had a poor game but like I said I hope he can regain his fitness again.
