Reading if so the Nike deal is only worth £30m a year (£15m less then NB) 20 less then spurs chelski.
But will be promoted by superstars drake serena Williams etc
They will get 20% of after sales Ed’s if true is this a common sort of deal or is it going into the unknown and taking a gamble?

{Ed002's Note - It is not uncommon - so Liverpool will get £30M plus 20% of the profit from sales (compared to Chelsea who get £60M and that is it). Such deals exist but are by no means common.}

{Ed002's Note - It will work to Liverpool if the club regularly change kits, have separate kits for Europe and parents can keep affording to buy them for the kids. The approach of regularly changing kits was something that most clubs decided was irresponsible and agreement was reached that kits would be kept for two years subject to sponsor changes. About 10 years ago one club broke away from that agreement and since then it has become the norm to have a third kit and to change all annually. In many cities where families are less well off and have two or three kids it can be a significant hit financially.

The club will be relying on continued success and will have done their sums so it won’t be much of a gamble.}

Cheers Ed! I remember a few seasons ago Man Utd I think had something like 4 or 5 kits! It’s massive pressure of parents etc I don’t agree with it I think it’s wrong and greedy but I guess it’s the way football has gone these days! Have a good day 02.

read somewhere over 200 million global fan base . so kits will fly out, probably not in Liverpool or England but certainly round the world.

It should be every two years on rotation. Home, away, home etc. Obviously too much money to be made by the manufacturers but it just waters down the design as they churn out the same thing over and over again. Hopefully the trend of yearly kit stops but that'll only happen if we stop buying them.

I hope we don't go down that road. It almost seems like taking advantage. I know that it comes down to personal responsibility, but people will be people. I really don't like this deal at all.

Every club changes strips, every year! home, awway and 3rd strip, we are being no different to our competitors. No more greedy, or less but simply doing what has to be done to give us the best chance of being competitive.

{Ed025's Note - or you could say just like the rest naby...ripping off the general public where parents are pressurized into buying shirts even though they cant afford it but bow to peer pressure, being competitive is one thing...ripping off your supporters is another mate..

Totally agree Ed025,but you can't win. Lfc fans are forever banging on about how we weren't as much on the ball commercially as Man U the last 20 years, yet when the club are being ruthless and showing business savvy were the worst in the world.

{Ed025's Note - you are no better or worse than the rest of the clubs naby, i just think its time they gave a bit back mate, would it really bankrupt the clubs if they made the replica shirts £20?, the likes of pogba is asking for £600,000 a week and families are having to use food banks...now that cant be right, i will get off my soap box now mate as my champagne is getting warm.. :)

I agree Ed. it comes down to greed really. I agree that we need a fair deal, but this is getting a bit ridiculous.

I always thought they should just change one a year, or if you have three kits, they are on a three year cycle but staggered.
