Evening eds n reds

Bin a while since we have seen so many misplaced passes by most of the team. Credit to Sheff utd, they played well and probably deserved a point.

Ed1, do you think this might be the time to just make one or two changes for the next game. Not because of fatigue, they can't be tired but the team he put out today might start thinking they are surefire starters every game. Perhaps a little competition for places could keep the performances high.

if a vhange. then who would you bring in and who to be dropped.

Should he change a winning team?

Hmmm. Time for Larrucci perhaps.

{Ed001's Note - I am not a fan of changing a winning team unless someone is playing particularly badly over a run of games. None of the players are doing so, which means I would stick with the same team, unless injuries or fatigue are telling on any of the players.}

Agree0 Disagree1

Fair enough. i know salah takes players with him and that creates space for others but i would be tempted to put Origi in his place and Lorucci at the back.

Just for one game. Stops complacency.

And if wr dropped points in that game there would be a meltdown on here regarding dropping Salah.

I'm nearly certain we had this conversation about Salah this time last year. Iut of form, not fully recovered from injury, not playing for the team, head turned by Madrid etc. etc.

Turned out alright in the end.

I'm with most on this. Unless it happens in a run of few games, then maybe. Something was missing yesterday. It could be something with mental, emotion, fitness or some others. We have to give them some chance to make things right. They even won last night, so that could be a thing that will make them better in the next games.

It was very much like Everton at Goodson of last season revisited yesterday, credit to Sheffield Utd’s defensive organisation although they were easier on the eye going forward than the Toffees were that day.
We still made four or five good chances despite an average performance.
I liked Origi’s cameo yesterday too, he looked dangerous.
Take the 3 points and move swiftly on.

I love how a battling performance by a plucky underdog gets everyone in a flap every so often. Liverpool had 70% of the ball yesterday in an away game. Yes the attack was a bit out of form but I'm not sure we need to panic so much really and to suggest dropping a player like Salah is just nonsense.

we could have won by at least 3 to be fair! despite not being our best.

I'm noticing a lot of us are getting worried by the performances in the last 3 or 4 games, which is understandable of course.

One thing that we need to consider though is that we've just played 4 consecutive away games including a trip to Chelsea and napoli. It hasn't been comfortable viewing but end of the day we've collected maximum points in the league, progressed to next round in the cup playing kids and lost late on to a very good napoli side in a game which we could afford to lose more than most.

4 away trips in 2 weeks is always going to give bumpy moments but overall we've navigated them successfully.

Back to back anfield games this week can see us get back to playing with more confidence and control.

Things where not great yesterday but we should have had a pen and mane has got to finish them 2 chances and no has to finish his chance as well. But hopefully they will have the shooting boots on next week.

Dont get that, origi never plays that well when he starts and the other lad hasn't had much experience so makes no sense. As ed said why change a winning team.

Points over performance 7 days a week for me.

We could’ve looked after the ball a bit better last match, because they broke on us like they meant it and caused us problems. However had we taken one of the 2 extremely clear cut chances in the first half their game plan would have to change and I think we’d have won easily.

The game got nervy simply because by not taking our chances they got more confident and we got a bit edgy.
Nothing to worry about if you ask me.
