I was hoping Michael Oliver would be the the ref vs City. Putting Martin Atkinson as ref or VAR operator would just be taking the mick and trolling people. Thanks for the news, OP.

I said in an earlier post Michael Oliver is without doubt the best man for the job come Sunday he will show aikinson up no doubt very calm man cool as a cucumber.

Ive got no time what so ever for Martin Atkinson (i'd have a tendency to agree with Chris Kamara on the whole VAR 'angle' thing, but we'll never know), but to be fair to him he's probably been given a break following yesterday's game.

I understand why Martin Atkinson isn't popular at the moment, but going back to the start of the 2016-17 season.

Atkinson has reffed Man City for 10 games. City have an average of 1.9 points per game from those games.

He has reffed Liverpool 14 games in that period, with Liverpool getting an average of 2.14 points per game.

If we're saying that Atkinson doesn't like Liverpool, maybe he doesn't like City either.
