You’d have to right Jose off at your own risk I think! He’s a proven coach but I think his time out he’s did his homework and will have a point to prove big time! He gets under my skin but it’s only cus he’s good at what he does! I think he’ll make spurs a force in my opinion hopefully I’m wrong and time will tell! He’s good for the premier league he’s box office when he looses the plot 😂.

Sod Jose, are we signing Son in January or what? 😂.

Jose will be fine until he’s had a couple of transfer windows and tries to sign top players but realises he can only afford a meal deal at Tesco.
Then the toys will come flying out of the pram and everyone else will be to blame other than himself. We all know what Jose is and I can’t see him changing now.

Jose is too cute to be selling Son OR Harry Klaim,
I have to say that in the short term, Jose will get results, I can't see this going well for Spurs,
Jose is in my opinion the most annoying man in football .

I think this is Jose’s most interesting appointment yet. In every previous job he’s had, União aside, he’s had a team either stocked with elite players, even Porto and Inter, or stocked with the funds to buy elite players. At Spurs, I’m not sure he has either, though Son is a superb player.
Tottenham’s team is also aging rapidly, their defence must be among the highest average age in the league. Having said that, Inter and Porto were also ‘old’ teams when he was managing them, so maybe this is what he needs.
Jose himself is 56 now, he is not the cocky (on the surface), aggressive fresh face that he was when he came to England in 2004.
I give this appointment two years before he leaves England for good.

{Ed047's Note - Mourinho is like Mike Tyson, was awesome and then ran into Buster Douglas and got smashed.

Followed it up with an embarrassing loss to Eva Carneiro before being knocked out again by Ed Woodward.

Now he’s trying to make another comeback against the mighty Daniel Levy.

Good luck with that one.

Definitely don't write him off just yet though. He just might know what he is doing.

21 Nov 2019 07:41:20
Could have put it better myself 47.

Can you imagine Levy sanctioning an £89m transfer fee ( pogba) plus all the add ons and wagers? I can’t.

Wages even lol.

Known or having the reputation for being a penny-pincher, Levy appointed the wrong guy as manager, IMO. Mou likes to spend money A LOT and if he does not get who he wants regardless of price, the mayhem will begin. See what happened at utd where he wanted Maguire for 65m whereas he had already spent the same amount on both Lindelof and Bailly? What if that happened at Spurs? Exactly.

Mou will get results, no doubt. What will happen when he doesn't? Well, you only have to consult history to know that. And those who don't learn from history are forever doomed to repeat it.

{Ed001's Note - Levy is a penny-pincher, but only in regards to he sets his price and won't budge. He will splash the cash. Erik Lamela cost £30m at a time when prices were much lower. Ndombele was not cheap. Levy does like a bargain but the issue with his buying has more been because he leaves it until the last minute to try and drive the seller into a corner, where they have to accept his bid. The problem has been other clubs just refuse to even talk to him as they know what he is up to, which is why he changed tack in the summer.}

I wouldn’t underestimate the draw of a spanking new stadium, in London, with JM managing will have
Reckon Levy will suddenly find money for transfers.

21 Nov 2019 18:57:24
I think you’re over estimating the pull of a brand new stadium in London Agger. If it was such a pull then they wouldn’t have a squad full of players who want to leave would they?
Money talks and until they pay top players top money they will always be behind the rest.

Thanks for the info, Ed01.

{Ed001's Note - very welcome.}

as people have said about spurs having an aging squad but for Jose I don't think that is a problem, I think he works better with older players and I think short term will do well with spurs squad. They have looked all over the place this season and I think Jose will sort that out short term. But long term don't see how this will work out as spurs don't like to splash the cash and Jose like to buy top end players ready to go straight into the first team.
