The best possible news we could have had at this point of time - Klopp committing to another 5.5 years with the club. To my mind, it makes a greater impact than a Mbappe or Sancho signing (or even both) .
FSG makes a serious statement of intent in terms of being happy with the current situation and doing everything possible to ensure this continues. If this is part of buying the league, then I'm all for it.
We have a greater chance of holding on to our best players. Simply because they know that if they're playing well and getting along with Klopp, they can stay for as long as they want to (and as long as Klopp wants as well) .
Recruitment becomes easier because players thinking of coming in know who's going to be in charge and for how long. Klopp's past record speaks for itself, but a potential incoming player will have a firm view of who he will be working with for a foreseeable future. Which of Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern, PSG, Lyon, ManU, Chelsea, Arsenal (and others) have held on to a manager for more than 3 years in recent times?
And then of course there is the bond between supporters and the club that Klopp has played a key part in reviving and growing. A bond that is due not only due to his personality and charisma, but because of his (and FSG's) commitment to reviving the club in all the various aspects, on and off the field.
Of course it's only a contract, and things could change drastically due to many things; we've seen Klopp go through difficult times at Dortmund for example. But at least a clear map has been drawn and a clear direction is declared.
I'm sure some of you are already thinking what I was thinking just now. Most of our best players are signed until '21 or '22. That gives time for Klopp to bring in the next generation and move on in '24.

He's committed to another 4.5 years. 5.5 would take him to 2025.
Still, it's fantastic news. I didn't even find out until about 5pm. I'm absolutely ecstatic about it.
