Just banter/ opinion/ debate please: Reds and Eds (including Ed002 and Ed025 of course! ), how much does it matter to you that the FA allow Liverpool to wear the FIFA Club World Cup badge on match days? Just read we appealed and the FA granted permission to wear the badge, which is yet to be officially presented by FIFA to Liverpool, only once, in the home game against Wolves in a couple of days.
Does it matter to you that we wear the badge during Premier league games or not? What do y'all think? If you say it matters, say why. If not, say why as well. Let's hear your thoughts.
Thanks all.

{Ed002's Note - It makes no difference to me at all. I cannot see what it has to do with the FA at all if they have been interfering.

There are certainly Premier League rules about the league kits and what can be worn and what can't - and much of that relates to the potential for exploitation - which is perhaps behind the reason for Liverpool wishing to wear it when the rules don't allow it.

As it is a FIFA competition Liverpool are allowed to wear any additional badges on the Champions League kit and exploit it that way.}

Personally I think the whole football community knows we are the world champions. The badge has little effect on me. I love seeing the boys lift the trophy and the championz wall update. Hoping for z few more updates to come.

I cannot understand why they'd want to ban it. Shouldn't they be proud that a team under their rule has won it?

I cannot see why it is exploitation or why anyone would be offended by it.

{Ed002's Note - Nobody is offended by it and nobody wants to ban it. It simply does not meet the rules, and it was the same when another Premier League side won it. Exploitation and yet another different Premier League kit that the kiddie Liverpool supporters will want will put a financial strain on their parents - it may not be a big deal for you but it is to the parents.

I've kids, and they know without even asking me that if they already have a strip they wouldn't be getting another one just because it has a patch on it. think it says more bout the parenting if they're running out buying multiple kits per child just to get a badge. i can't see why liverpool. or any other english team can't wear it if they've earned it, not that I find it very important either. We rule Europe with or without the badge.

I'm completely ambivalent about it. I think it is something between the clubs and the association/ competition they are participating in. Sure it's a source of pride to have won the competition but there are different ways of showing it, even when people clearly know all about it - the adding of a star after a World Cup win on national jerseys, for example.

A badge is much larger, and then could lead to demands and requests for other things. I would want to avoid any situation as per some leagues where there is so much advertising and other stuff on a jersey that I can't tell if something is a drink brand or the player's name.

Plus isn't the badge ironed on anyway?

Nothing to do with Liverpool but funny how the Premier League are happy to allow kit sponsorship from gambling companies and heavy advertising during games from the same, but teams cannot modify their kits to have a badge from a FIFA tournament.

Merry Christmas all regardless.

Weve got the trophy, we've got the legacy. What difference does it make having a gold badge on your shirt for a year?

26 Dec 2019 10:46:01
Lol I'm not bothered, it's a badge, there's more concerning matters in this world.

26 Dec 2019 11:22:46
I would agree with that Salah.

I actually think the whole thing is pretty embarrassing and the kind of thing that needlessly winds up other teams fans. It's not as if football supporters don't know is it.
