Between now and the summer I wanted to know where realistically LFC need to strengthen? Call it MOTD fever or whatever you like but i feel we could develop Neco Williams into a capable back-up for Trent. On the left side of defence, i'm not 100% convinced Larouchi will take it up to that next level and will just fall short of the first team (hope i'm wrong) . Shaqiri and Lovren may leave at some point so here would be my pick of IN's for LFC.

Centre Half/ Left Back - Jordan Torunarigha

Attacking Midfield - Viktor Tsyhankov

Forward - Victor Osmihen

Not sure if these are achievable or not just my picks.

I agree about Williams and larouci. The former has a great shout but may be too good to play second fiddle. And the latter may fall short sadly.

I feel we are in a position to sign mbappe. It seemed a bit ridiculous a year ago, but now not so much. We had a big spend a couple of years ago and have since spent very little. Maybe we're saving for another big signing. Thing is, salah is great and so is every player we have.

The only outs I see are lallana and sadly origi. Ads, coz he's getting on and contract ending. Origi coz he's good enough to start for 95% of the teams out there but isn't getting that many minutes. I really hope divock stays. He's a legend for his cl goals and goals against Everton. I think he'll end up staying for another couple of seasons. We need more than 3 forwards and Brewster and origi are the only other proper strikers on the books. Shaq is a midfielder.
We do have minamino now. Does that say anything about origi's future? He played cf on his debut? Probably more a lallana/ shaqiri repkacement.

Would prefer Ben White over Torunarigha. Much more first team experience and is home grown. Don’t think he’d move to sit on the bench at this time in his career though.

Tsyhankov is a right winger where we have Salah, Minamino, Shaqiri, Mané (cover) and at a push Ox available to play. Granted, Shaqiri may leave but won’t need replacing. Wilson will return and a decision needs to be made on him.

Osimhen, we are following and looks a decent player. That may depend on whether Origi wants more game time. Again, Osimhen won’t want to come and sit on the bench. If Origi is happy to carry on, it may be better to carry on as we are. Brewster will return in the summer and a decision needs to be made on him.

In terms of what I think we need. a centre back to replace Lovren if he goes and White I like the look of but don’t see him craving the move. He may, however get opportunities if Matip and Gomez continue to struggle with injuries. May be how Klopp sells it to him, along with cup opportunities.
A midfielder/ cover for the left wing if Lallana leaves and Grujic receives no work permit. Fabinho, Henderson, Wijnaldum, Milner, Ox, Keita, Jones will all be at the club next year though and opportunities again will be limited. I do feel we need cover for Mané to prevent a drop off in quality. Maybe the interest in Osimhen is to aid this, with switching the front three around a bit.
If Grujic is in the first team next year then maybe Jones will go on loan.

Mbappe is not joining us. Sorry.

How are those drugs working Robbie? I think you need to up the dose mate. Mbappe indeed 🙄.

Robbiesline is 100% correct about Mbappe. Bloke down the pub told me its nailed on. And my unicorn agreed with him.

Tricky one for Origi. He’s featured (been on pitch) for 20+ games this season already. Clearly valued by Liverpool but will never be ahead of the no contest front three.

How is signing mbappe that crazy when we paid 75mil for a cb? The lad is due a move. Earned one. The Premier league is the most famous and watched worldwide. And the prestige of our top clubs (us being one or two depending how you look at it) is going to increase. It is hard to see from the inside. Listen, I know it's highly unlikely but how many clubs are able to get him? Madrid, barca, City, bayern maybe and us. We haven't been able to compete wages wise but our new sponsorship deal has made us more competitive there.

I'm not saying it's happening, I didn't even say I think it might. Only that it isn't as crazy as it sounded 6 months ago. We are world champs now. With more money and we've barely spent 8 mil in 2 windows. We are due a spend. Of course, like I said, it would depend on salah leaving and I'm not even sure I prefer mbappe to salah. What is mbappe biggest season in terms of goals? Is it better than 44? I genuinely don't know. And he plays in a two Bob league. Salah did his in the prem.
Klopp has shown he can not only find hidden gems (robbo, Matip etc) but is willing to pay for the world's best. Vvd and Alison.

Robbie
Mbappe transfer would be massive, not forgetting his £300,000 a week wages, maybe a lot more. I couldn't even imagine his transfer fee but it could make VVD's look like peanuts.

09 Jan 2020 07:21:46
Robbie, as IR sais it is not the transfer fee that is impossible.
It is the wages that makes it 0% chance of happening.

If Mbappe signs ill give you both my wife and house and leave with the kids to live on the streets.

Front three is outstanding and Minamino and a Origi top players in the backup/ challengers mould. No need to change anything unless Salah or Mane leave (god forbid)

Midfield is strong with Fabinho, Hendo, Gini (assuming a new contract), Keita, Milner, however feels likely Lallana or Shaqiri leave (or both) . In my mind, let Jones step up if one leaves, but if we lose two (or Milner as well) then I think there’s scope to bring another player in. I’d be very happy to see Grujic return to be honest, but clearly there’s come for a bigger signing.

In defence I think we’re a little short of experienced cover at FB if Milner leaves. I believe we should let Neco and Larouci step up as like them both, but if Milner leaves then a strong FB able to play both sides would be my top pick. CB perhaps if Lovren leaves but otherwise OK.

GK I’m happy.

Not a lot to be done unless a top player leaves to be honest.

Edeholt. I'm holding you to that mate. Lols. So what happens? Who, bar psg and maybe city can afford 300.000 a week? Does it mean he is city bound.

Can I ask eds and reds, if you had to bet on mbappe future, where do you all predict him playing in, say, 3 years. Probably Madrid would be my guess. Can they afford those sort of wages?
