The African Cup Of Nations has been moved back to January from next year which means 3 of our key players are likely to be away for a month or so.

{Ed002's Note - If they are still at the club.}

Agree1 Disagree0

😞 Don’t say that Ed, I hope they are.

{Ed002's Note - You all keep telling me that Liverpool are adding Mbappe, Werner, Neymar, Sancho and all of the others - you need to make space in the squad.}

Don’t forget Havertz Ed.

And Dembele!

That is a MASSIVE issue. Jeez, we would struggle without salah AND mane. Can cover Matip but two of our best players gone for a month at a critical time. All knackered from a busy premier league December. It's really sad coz they are 2 of my faves but I can see Liverpool cashing in now.

Then again we do have minamino, origi and Brewster, shaqiri, lallana. I reckon trent could play on mane's spot and salah's. But it would disrupt our squad. I really don't like the sound of it. I think we could cope with losing one but not three.

Matip is retired from international football Robbie. The 3rd is Keita who whilst is excellent when fit, we know we can cope without. No Mane and Salah will be difficult for potentially 6 weeks. An injury to another forward at that time could be dangerous.

I read that the reason it has been changed back to January is because the climate in Cameroon, where it will be hosted, is not suitable for a summer tournament. Surely that would be the same in most African countries if that's true?

Have a feeling it will change our summer plans now loosing big players for 6+ games over that hectic time could be devastating.

Robbiesline, calm down mate. It’s only 4 weeks. I can’t see Liverpool selling 2 of their best players just because they won’t be available for a month.
If we can’t survive it, then we don’t deserve to win anything.

Before people start losing their ship, Minamino, anyone? I mean, there is a reason he was brought in right?

15 Jan 2020 19:10:28
Anybody know why they’ve changed it? Ridiculous.

15 Jan 2020 19:13:43
IT'S A YEAR AWAY!

15 Jan 2020 20:11:16
@lercy they changed it because it is being played in Cameroon and they have lots of rain in summer. The thought is the pitches wouldn't be playable.

Thank brommers. Manchester seem to cope.

year and a half away. lots of time to plan. agree it is the less ideal time for it for our purposes. but makes sense on the continent.
