Can fellow LFC fans tell us when a club signed a player and they thought:'he's too good for them'.
I was thinking of Juninho when he signed for Middlesborough.

Agree0 Disagree0

Everton's recent big signings, but that soon waned.

More recently;

Neves and Moutinho when they signed for Wolves, Max Meyer when he signed for Palace (although he hasn't been as successful as I thought he would be) .

Paul Pogba signed for Man United when they were in a terrible state, and it's quite clear that he really regrets that decision.

Longer ago, Jay Jay Okocha and Ivan Campo for Bolton stands out for me. As well as Juninho, Middlesborough also signed Ravanelli and Mendieta who were both fantastic players. Robinho for Man City when they were quite a poor side, but we all know the story there that he thought he was actually signing for Man United, haha.

Shurrle for Fulham. He wasn't amazing for them but a good player.

Hamsik, Arnautovich and especially, Oscar to China. Hazard to Real too.

Tevez and Mascherano at West Ham.

Robbiesline. Arteta was too good for Everton back then, but they did sign him from Rangers, if I remember correctly. Everton were just a stepping stone for him.

Tevez for West hsm.

THe great fabrizio ravenalli signed for Middlesborough, always loved him when he was in Italy.

Alisson for us? That was a bit of a shocker, thought he would have ended up at Madrid or Barca, never thought the best goal keeper in the world would sign for us at the time.

He was at Everton for a while I thought (Arteta) could be wrong. I thought it was gers, arsenal then Everton. Was other way round was it? Everton - arsenal

Tevez to West ham is a really good shout.

Morientes to Liverpool?

Ziegle to boro.

Honestly, when Ings went to Southampton. Still gutted that it didn’t happen for him with us as I genuinely always thought he was a natural goalscorer and good all round player. I know he was injured and didn’t play much footy but I’m surprised he’s there and don’t think he will be for long, with the greatest of respect to the Saints of course.

I've just had a brain freeze. Did Maradona play in Europe? I think he was a river plate men eh, but did he play here and who for?

{Ed001's Note - Barca and Napoli were quite famous moments in his career.}

I feel like he played in italy.

Renato sanchez to Swansea. Only a loan but it shocked every one. Was shocking how shocking he was for them. He's a good little player.

His Barcelona days was numbered as soon as he met the Butcher of Bilbao.
He had his ankle broken in one game and later on in a copa final he started punching anybody wearing an Athletico shirt.
Goikoetxea was an animal, dirtiest player ever.

Suprised no one has mention it. Rui Patricio for Wolves.

Cheers ed01. I knew that, forgotten obviously.

{Ed001's Note - I guessed you would probably know.}
