ED02. I would imagine that there is a fair bit of interest in Adama traore due to his performances this season against Man City and us. just curious to know what teams are looking at him and are we possibly one of them? He seems unplayable at the minute and there's a better end product with him now which is quite frightening when you can add that to the blistering pace he has. 👍👍 thanks.

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any interest at the moment. Klopp has obviously praised him and hugged him but I am not aware of any approach from Liverpool to replace Minamino or Salah with him.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I’d like to see him centrally behind the striker he could cause real problems.

How is there better end product? Was I the only one who saw who miss-hit, over hit, and fail to find a man with almost everyone of his crosses bar one against us? The guy is a phenomenal athlete but his end product is still miles away from being good enough.

I can’t think of another player that has ran away from Liverpool’s back four and forced two formation changes like Traore did last night.
I’d definitely take him to Liverpool.

Would you really replace salah with traore?!

The day traore scores 44 goals in a season I will go and sit on wolves fire blocks!

I don't think traore could play in our team. He's too heavy. Look at the ox when he signed, he didn't play until he'd lost a tonne of weight. Not to mention I just don't like him (and I bet that really alters who our targets are! ) . Fouled van djike, a nasty one. Big meaty elbow in the ribs and it wasn't even a foul. Jumps on the floor when he's tapped. That lairy celebration like he's something special when he set up the goal. The guys a dick. He's decent and I think he'll be a good servant for wolves but van djike had his number by the end.

5 players I like at wolves are doherty
Coady
Neves
Moutinio
Jiminez.

But I'd only take neves and Jiminez at liverpool.

Robbiesline, at last someone other than Ed01 with a realistic appraisal of Traore. Just because he is the media flavour of the month does not mean he is good enough for Liverpool.

He has definitely improved this season, and would improve further with Klopp coaching him, but I just don’t see him as anywhere near Mo, Bobby, Sadio, Divock or Taki.

He has found his level, leave him to enjoy it. And while I’m at it, I like everything about Wolves (except their annoying fans) but the media are currently going overboard about them. Let’s have it right - they have played 24 PL games and won 8, drew 10 and lost 6.

They have 34 points which is 33 points behind Liverpool. They are a decent team, not even a very good one yet, but not the top level team that the media would have us believe.

Great to see Coady doing so well. Just shows what you can do when you leave Liverpool as a youngster. I wouldn't be adverse him coming back if say Lovren left but would he want to compete for a place when he plays nearly every game for Wolves? I doubt it.

Yes he's fast, and he's improved since last season, but let's not exaggerate. He got one cross in just right and equal credit has to be given to Jimenez for twisting the ball perfectly beyond Alisson's reach. All of the other crosses were either too short (near post, usually cleared by VVD) or way beyond the far post where the ball simply bounced around until the nearest player got to it. That's hardly "frightening". He may be physically imposing, but then so what. Even Sane (who has questionable end product, sometimes) is better. Much better.

Agree with your list there robbiesline

Traore is clearly a very dangerous player and has something special about him, but the liverpool forwards are far more rounded, and do far more than he does in terms of defence, ability to create and certainly in terms of goals.

Everyone buying into the sane hype we've seen constantly in modern football and traore is just the latest. How many of ye actually have watched him regularly enough to know his game? He's literally just been on form the last 10-12 games and before this spell he's spent last 2 or 3 seasons in England incredibly inconsistent, showing poor decision making along with erratic and raw ability on the ball with shooting and passing far from good enough, his dribbling is one dimensional and doesn't offer the unpredictable and variation that mane or salah use to rip apart defences.

Let's really analyse what traore has been doing well lately and credit where it's due he has been an attacking threat high on confidence but his pace and power to beat a full back on the outside only offers so much treat, his crossing is poor yet everybody suddenly raving just because he's had joy with some good assists lately yet he's still regularly mucking his numerous deliveries that he makes each game. Anyone notice start of 2nd half when he messed about trying to flashy just outside their box and salah dispossessed him and had a great chance only for Patricio to make a great save. Easily could have been 2 nil from him being cocky in dangerous area. Or how about when he had VVD 1vs1 and virg was backtracking but traores decision making led him to panic and trash a shot at goal from 30 yards which by the way was example of his awful technique, when he was in full sprint facing the last man he bottled it.

So many players can look deadly to the naked eye but in reality how often are they penetrating genuine dangerous zones. The likes of zaha, Michel Antonio, bolasie, delofeau, Redmond, Townsend, iwobi, Fraser have all had this similar period of good form which saw the same hype being created for a player who's skill set and strengths don't suggest that they will consistently be capable of performing so well while looking at a players weaknesses an judging if those are likely to improve drastically. For me I think traore will struggle to keep performing consistently due to his decision making and over reliance on pace and power while lacking technical quality that an attacker needs. Many of the players I mentioned above look like danger threats as they often face up a full back and crowd get on their feet and a burst if pace gets fans excited but so often these players don't get goal side of defences or into dangerous goal mouth areas. I think traore only actually got goal side of Robertson twice in the entire game and his 2 accurate crosses were balls he stood up fantastically but that's an ability that every player can easily execute especially when they've attempted it numerous times per game. Surely some of ye can see that traore is far from being ready to perform at the highest clubs with consistent levels.

Puts in perspective wirral mate. And sadly it does give some credence to ed025 comments that the prem has been poor this year. Wolves are 6th, right? And have only won 8 games?! That is phenomenal. 2nd and 3rd have been decent enough though and that's what matters.

I don't think it's a true reflection and I don't really think it means the rest have been poor. More a case that the rest are all of a good level now.

{Ed025's Note - so your admiting that im right now robbie?.. :)

I don't believe the PL is poor this season. I hear that stuff a lot from other fans and maybe it is a way to troll LFC BU I don't buy it. One simple reason: LFC have won almost 10 games by one goal not granted most of them are consolation goals after we are 2 nil up and don't take our chances BUT others have been outright battles vs teams who made it VERY difficult for us such as Watford, Saints, Villa, Sheff Utd, man utd etc. We had to fight, scrap and battle hard to win those games so not sure what the whole (the PL is poor this season" is about cos that narrative and the scenario I have presented both, cannot be correct at the same time. Just my opinion.

Ed025, Ever looked up into a clear night sky and seen a very bright star, so bright it makes all the other stars look dim by comparison? That bright star is Liverpool mate.

{Ed025's Note - i thought it was sirius (the dog star) WW?, the thing with stars is that they tend to fade after a while mate...like michael barrymore.. :)

25 Jan 2020 19:51:46
Well if the 6th place team have only won 8 games out of 24, that would suggest that either all the clubs have gone up a notch or down. Probably up tbf as they all have a fair bit of cash.

{Ed025's Note - i would say down robbie..
