All these morons in the media, pundits, ex chairmen slamming Klopp. What these idiots need to realise is that it's not Klopp ruining the romance of the FA cup.

It's been ruined for years, since Sky TV took over the game, it's all about the money.

Period.

I used to love the FA Cup but over the years the FA themselves have done a number of things that have devalued the tradition of the competition.
From playing the semi finals at Wembley, playing the quarter finals over 4 nights and changing the cup final kick off time from 3pm to 5:15pm. The traditions are what made the FA cup special, why would clubs respect the cup when the FA doesn't respect it?
The FA did all of these things to earn more money so they can hardly be surprised when clubs choose to prioritise other competitions that earn them more money.

Most managers who have commented understand and support Klopp on this; most know-nothing, never-managed pundits and media commentators have attacked Klopp. I know who’s judgement I put more trust in.

One manager who has commented and has not supported Klopp is Solskjaer (that’s a shock, isn’t it? ) . He really is a pathetic, deluded loser.

What do people expect?!? Klopp has been on about having a winter break for years. Now it's finally happening we have a big match in the middle of it!

And it's all a bit disrespectful to the reserve team, who let's be honest, have just beaten a big (ish, sorry ed25) premier league team. If they can beat Everton then they can beat shrewsbury.

28 Jan 2020 21:31:02
Or they can definitely give shrewsbury a decent game. How many shrewsbury players get in the Liverpool squad? None.
How many of the reserves get in the Liverpool squad? A fair few.

I just hope this discussion dies soon. I do not want this to be a Rafa Rant moment of him cracking up. The faster us Liverpool fans squash it the better.

Sorry LFC8, I think Klopp is completely out of order. He is the 1st team manager of LFC, fair enough it’s up to him who he selects to play, but he 100% should be on the touchline for the game. Bang out of order in my opinion, bang out of order.

28 Jan 2020 23:05:43
I think Klopp should give the main players, who have played so much and need a rest the time off. BUT I do think the likes of Matip, Lovren, Keita, Minamino, Origi, Adrian, Shaqiri should play. They need game time - i personally think Klopp should be there too.

Lfc Hopeful, Klopp is indeed the 1st team manager of Liverpool FC and, as he explained in his media conference this afternoon, that is why he won’t be at Anfield for the Shrewsbury replay. Liverpool U23s will be playing against Shrewsbury and the Liverpool U23s manager is Neil Critchley so he will take charge for that match. Klopp said that those who say he should be there are demonstrating “a complete misunderstanding of management and coaching”.

fair enough it’s up to him who he selects to play, but he 100% should be on the touchline for the game
=================

Why should he . Lfc hopeful if you accept the under 23s playing that game, then you should accept Neil being in charge. Klopp was absolutely clear, Neil have managed that team all year, why should Klopp take over for just that one game, shows lack of trust and disrespect to Neil .

Don't you dear say anything bad about Klopp. He's the Messiah, second coming oh Jesus Christ. Redeemer and strong tower.

LFC Klopp’s point on the coach is a fair one. far more efficient if playing the full u23’s to have their actual coach there who manages them day in and day out and knows the team backwards. Klopp May add gravitas but is he really the right person to make the calls as to what those players are capable of and what system they’re most effective in?

I am not a fan of his stance as it distracts a bit from the focus of the club IMO, and to me it also flags an issue he feels strongly negative about (and anything that may push him towards not wanting to manage in the UK forever is a negative! ), but it’s his call to make who he plays, and if he decides we play the u23’s then Critch being the coach does make some sense to me.

Right or wrong as to his rationale, I simply don’t believe he’s doing It from a lack of respect or laziness. He’s flagged this issue many many times before now.

It's the few minutes of fame some of these chairmen from lower level teams are seeking. Let them have it. I can't help but sense a hidden envy in all of these people coming out of the woodworks and speaking out.

29 Jan 2020 10:46:53
The fa cup went when united made to go to Brazil to play in world club champions cup never regained its importance to date.

29 Jan 2020 10:59:21
Wirral, you don’t believe that the under 23’s would benefit from being managed by Klopp for a game? You don’t think that it might even draw an extra few percent out of them to actually play for Klopp? At best, give Pep the day off and have critchley as his assistant for the game, if he needs that input about the players. But he should be on the touch line.
If this was Jose or Guardiola, you’d all be calling them for everything if they can out and said the under 23’s coach would take the game.

29 Jan 2020 11:23:51
LFC Hopeful, Klopp himself said that those who say he should be there are demonstrating “a complete misunderstanding of management and coaching”. I am not so arrogant as to think that I know more about these matters than Klopp.

29 Jan 2020 11:39:48
I think we both have fairly entrenched views on it mate, don’t think either of us can change the others mind.
