Absolute fantastic result to get from a team with average age of 19 years 108 days to go out infront of 50000 fans under the lights at anfield and play with maturity and get us into the next round. The usual bright sparks Elliot and Jones again looked confident on the ball but for me the most pleasing thing was to see our defence looking strong.

Previously against villa and arsenal we conceded 5 goals and looked vulnerable with every attack faced. Tonight van den berg and Hoever looked so much more composed and controlled while neco Williams already looks more than capable of backing up Trent, . We controlled 90% of the game and a clean sheet to cap what was an extraordinary night for these boys to experience in their early careers and we will hopefully see them build on these kind of moments. I'm over the moon.

Har_red92 to be fair, Arsenal had a lot more firepower than Shewsbury did so it is only normal we concede more chances to them and also, the team we put out vs Arsenal lacked cohesion. This one did not hence with Critchley on the bench, the boys knew their jobs inside out. This supports Klopp's point that he did not need to be on the bench cos well, he does not coach the U23's so cannot offer that much input.

I am chuffed for the lads who gave it a right go and MAD props to the thousands of fans who turned up to roar them to victory. I guess the haters and trolls are going to have to put their knives away cos I know they already had them at the ready had the boys lost today. LFC Kids 1 Shewsbury 0. Read it and weep, Losers!

I thought all the lads put in a great shift. Now, if this isn't the "magic of the FA Cup" then I have no idea what that statement means. I also think it was great that our vice-captain (Millie) attended and went into the changing room to talk to the lads. great stuff.

Well chuffed for them. A lot of pressure and they handled it well. Disrespectful for shrewsbury to start their 2nd choice forward. Come on guys, we're Liverpool.

Well done young reds! ❤⚽️.

I agree mate

Standouts were Jones and Elliot upfront, and Chirivella was exceptional at controlling the middle of the park, but most pleasing of all was the back 4. Sepp has looked lost in previous games but took a huge step forward tonight, while Hoever looked fantastically composed. For those two to deal with the physicality and experience of Shrewsbury was a credit with not a single shot on target. The fullbacks were also too notch, adventurous going forward but excellent in defence.

What a fantastic game, the youngsters fully deserved the win after completely dominating possession, and with a bit more experience upfront, 3 nil would not have been an unfair result.

The win last night has rather pulled the rug from under the feet of those critical of Klopp.
But more than that, a vindication of Klopp’s stand point was Sam Rickett’s admission that it was (Shrewsbury’s) “game 39 for us and it caught up with us”.
If that isn’t an advert for a rest period I don’t know what is.

Totally agree, Juicer. Last night was Liverpool's 41st competitive game of the season so far, starting with the Community Shield against City on 4th August. With potentially another 20+ games to go.
