Apparently, after Chelsea losing tonight, we have guaranteed a champions league spot for next season. It’s the 17th of feb, that’s mad.

On a side note the officiating in that game, not to mention the complete failure of VAR, was a disgrace. Why have VAR if almost all of the games pivotal moments are officiated wrong (Maguire not seeing red, Zouma being denied a goal after a United player pushes Azpilicueta first)?

Anthony Taylor was born in Manchester - so why is he officiating United games? Official on the VAR also born in Manchester apparently (think it was Sturat Atwell? ) - just smacks of corruption. Chelsea weren't great, but they will feel justifiably outraged at the decisions that went against them and know, if VAR was working properly, they'd of likely won.

{Ed002's Note - I am pretty sure there was no corruption - mistakes clearly and Chelsea will be miffed and frustrated but in the end have to suck it up. Maybe a retrospective ban to draw attention away.}

Not related just survived a second suicide and are struggling big time, this site makes a big difference in my day and thank you all.

{Ed047's Note - stay strong Red, talk to people, don’t be alone mate. There are plenty of support groups out there such as CALM.

Look them up give them a call 0800 58 58 58. They are on from 5pm to midnight.

It’s ok not to be ok mate and you’ve started by speaking now.

I know how you feel Red. In 2016 my partner died, she was just 31. Left me with a little boy to bring up. I was in a very dark place and there was a time all I wanted to do was join her. But there is always a reason to carry on. Always hope and always light. Be as strong as you feel you can be, but like Ed047 said, it's ok not to feel ok. Talk to someone, start the journey back. We are all here for you my friend.

Thank you mate it means a lot.

Mistakes were made by human officials and the team which was the victim of these mistakes have to suck it up as it could happen to any side. It creates furious debate among supporters but the poor decisions should even themselves out over the course of the season.

Am I talking about officiating before VAR or since it has been introduced? Seems like exactly the same scenario to me except now we get to blame a team of incompetents rather than one guy on the field.

Chelsea were robbed, how was Maguire not sent off for that? VAR isn't about getting decisions right, it's all about confirming the ref's decision no matter how wrong they may be. Absolutely embarrassing display from the officials.

Redcol. I’ve seen a lot more focus on mental well-being the last few years. The best advice I read was that in addition that people should be kinder is that you should be kind to yourself. Don’t be so hard on yourself. Sites like these are wonderful for people who feel alone and need distraction from their worries. But genuinely. You’ll never walk alone with football fans. We have enough opinions (mostly full of crap) to last several millennia. Stay involved and keep taking one step at a time forward.

Big up Redcol, I don't know what's affecting your life at the moment but keep going. Perhaps try something like boxing, it saved my life 👍.

18 Feb 2020 13:21:02
Stay strong Col. RTID is right, if you aren't participating in any exercise, or physical activity in general it can really help to put a positive spin in your mind mate and get you through the day. Small steps mate and in a few weeks or months time your world could be looking a whole lot different :)

There's always a reason to live redcol. You never know what's around the corner mate. Be strong x.

18 Feb 2020 13:26:51
Red, there’s always people on here to reach out too. If nothing else a first, anonymous place to say hey guys, I’m not feeling too good. But as Ed says, there’s lots of help out there these days, there’s no shame in seeking it out. Stay strong and get yourself in a healthier place mate. All the very best to you.

That's interesting Ed02. Can retrospective action still be taken if it contradicts a VAR decision?

{Ed002's Note - Yes, the FA's retrospective disciplinary process doesn't go away because of VAR.}

18 Feb 2020 18:16:12
Redcol if you don’t mind me asking mate where abouts you living. I have access to groups around the Hampshire area that would be more than happy to help you pal.

18 Feb 2020 18:45:32
My heart goes out to you redcol. I am suffering a lot myself at the moment and have now found myself living at least an hour away from anyone I know. Forums like this really do give you something else to focus on and it can make all of the difference. My advice. eat and take walks. They are the only thing keeping me going right now.
