What did he say.

20 Feb 2020 09:57:54
He claimed Liverpool was the best team in the world and that he was proud to be linked to them. Sounds like he wants to join.

It could also mean other teams need to make a move quickly and offer far more than what they may have indicated earlier (i. e, Bayern Munich), because he's supposedly interested with LFC. Professional football players are "transient employees" with a limited career duration. Every extra penny obtained counts.

No, he wants to sign for Klopp. Get him in and let Divock move on, I know he's a cult hero after last season but he is simply not good enough. there's too big a drop off from Salah, Manè nd Firmino.

20 Feb 2020 11:08:37
Certainly sounds like he ya aware of our interest. Quality player would welcome him with open arms just not sure we’re he fits or who doesn’t play.

I'm not worried about where he fits in. That is Klopps problem.

Brewster looks likely to leave in my opinion. Players who go out on loan rarely come back. Shaqiri in surely a goner too. Salah and Mane will go to the AFCON in a critical period as well.

So there will be a stage next season where we'll potentially only have Firmino, Origi and Minamino assuming no injuries in January which is literally the worst period. Plus youth players of course. Werner would add to the depth and potentially could be groomed into a long term Salah replacement.

Is 6 senior players for 3 positions too much? Man City have Sterling, Aguero, B. Silva, Sane, Jesus and Mahrez all vying for 3 positions.

Don't think we should sell origi.

20 Feb 2020 12:59:24
I’m with ya Plain Bread in that, just can’t see it happening mate.

Absolutely not bmena red. Origi is a legend. He won us the European Cup. He offers something different and I think there are other attacking options that could be let go to make room for werner.

20 Feb 2020 16:11:16
Absolutely bmena red. No way. People have such short memories. Origi was good enough to knock Barcelona to the dust and score in a ucl final. Good enough to beat Newcastle and Everton. But because he didn't score in a game we should now move him on.

It took a while for me to warm to origi. But he has something the others don't. A directness, a wicked shot and height. Werner would be a good replacement for shaqiri imo. We got him cheap, sell him on, make a profit and have a spend on timo.

And also, I hate to sat it, but our front three aren't clicking as much as they did 2 seasons ago, last season was better too. Maybe mixing it up is a good idea. Be brave and bring in another big player.

20 Feb 2020 19:23:33
Spot on, Robbie. IMO, Origi has nothing to prove to anyone, anymore as an LFC player. We are not where we are right now without him and that is a fact. And why should he be the one to leave were Werner to sign? Lallana and Shaq will prolly be gone next season so there will be room for Werner.

I think people have been trying to run Origi out of town for the past 2/ 3 seasons yet the guy is still here and has the trust of the manager. Maybe it is high time those who want him gone, get over the fact that if Klopp wants Divvy here and Divvy wants to stay, he will remain here. Get over it and most importantly, get over yourselves.

I don't think it's as simple as posters simply wanting origi gone but more like they're just contemplating his role being strenghtened with better quality. Origi has been first option to fill in attack for last 15 months and he's produced big moments from the bench which we will forever cherish but it's sensible to think we can get better.
He's also played many games where his standard has let us down and we can't let that be ignored simply because he produced a few magic moments. Arguing that scrappy goals vs everton or Newcastle isn't enough.
