Timo Werner after today’s game v Schalke:

“Jürgen Klopp is the best coach in the world. Many things speak for the fact, that my playing style suits Liverpool. “

Seems to me that Werner is not put off by the idea of not being an automatic starter. Shows the lad has confidence in his own ability to be able to force himself into the starting line up. This rumour doesn’t look to be going away any time soon!

Strange he keeps talking about Klopp and Liverpool. He was obviously asked loaded questions to give those answers regarding us. Like Ed002 sais he ain’t coming to sit on our bench.

He needs to zip it!

Fabinho came and sat on the bench near in mind this was a full Brazilian international, minimino is on the bench Robbo was on the bench near half a season so why can’t Werner come and be like these players? Is he so arrogant he thinks he will walk in
I think a few are doing him an injustice and he might just back himself to come and prove he should be a starter.

I would love Werner. But if it’s to replace one of our front three, I’d rather not. No chance.

I don’t get why he would have to be a replacement for one of the front 3? We have spent the last 2 seasons rotating the midfield 3, why can’t we do the same with the front 3? We could play over 60 games a season in all comps and need the options to rotate!

{Ed047's Note - it’s called resting on your laurels when you don’t do things like that.

The important thing is not to do it again and believe or think that none of your players are irreplaceable.

That’s when you end up with 30yrs without a title.

So you think we should try and get him Ed047?

{Ed047's Note - 100% DTD it’s all about progression mate, you have a great team, players want to join, he’s a goal machine.

Don’t stand still and think we’re fine, look at City’s squad and the competition all over the park.

The only player there not supposed to be happy is Sane. Players want to win stuff and your about to go on a big winning streak.

Keep adding keep improving for me all day long.

If Werner knows that he won't start all the games and is willing to come here then, I'm all for it.

Ed047 is 100% correct lad's. Look at Man. Utd when they dominated every season they brought in 2/ 3 player's to keep the squad fresh and that's how you stay on top.

As Ed002 has always told us players are transient they come and go. Then you have Bob Paisley who as Ed001 tells us he was ruthless when it came to letting players go in order to keep the club challenging and look how that worked out.

Look lad's we are back on our perch after 30 year's so if it means (hypothetically of course) moving Mane, Salah or Bobby on in order to keep us on our perch than so be it. I really don't want to spend another 30 year's in the wilderness do you? YNWA.

A very good point Barry there is bound to come a time when the current front 3 becomes stale and needs freshening up.
This next question is not meant to cause trouble but out of the 3, if you had to lose 1 to say bring in a Timmo Werner which one would you get rid of and why?
I would have to go with salah just because bobby can't be replaced in our current system and Mane I feel has yet to hit his peak.
What salah has done for us is incredible and in a ideal world I would love a front 4 of firmino, Mane, salah and Werner but as barry says if it comes between losing any of the front 3 to stay at the top then so be it.
We have to take advantage of our current situation and more importantly learn from our past mistakes.

{Ed002's Note - Then Liverpool need a Chiesa or Salah, not a Werner.}
