Ed001, Stupid question time mate I'm afraid. Are you worried about the Coronovirus affecting the PL with worry over it being called off and us not being awarded the title should we still be top? What do you think will happen if it gets worse and worse.

{Ed001's Note - not in the slightest worried to be honest. If it gets so bad that it affects the league to that extent, then that would be the least of our worries.}

Agree5 Disagree0

I know it would be least of our worries mate, surviving would be higher up on the agenda lol. I think I would stop following all forms of football though should it come down to the league being cancelled cos of it😷.

{Ed001's Note - I very much doubt it will get to that point.}

There are currently 19 cases of Coronavirus in the UK

That is 0.000028% of the population.

The news is blowing it way out of proportion. It is a serious issue but not as serious as the various news outlets are making it out to be.

28 Feb 2020 17:50:35
Like Ed says.
I'd rather not have people and family dying around me than us win the league.

28 Feb 2020 17:54:54
I'm sure they can play behind closed doors. The TV revenue will be a good enough reason. Also if the things get so bad that people are told to stay at home then having footy on Tele will actually be good for them.

Being Mr Negative I am genuinely concerned that this thing could end our dream ms I’m afraid chaps. Convince me otherwise 👀😷.

30,000 people die each year from flu.

28 Feb 2020 20:06:20
If you are elderly or comprimised with heart conditions, lung problems or other health issues it may be a problem. This virus is, so far as rightly pointed out by Drogie, having a mortality rate far far less than standard flu. Worldwide flu kills around 15% of sufferers at its lowest percentage, in a bad flu season that percentage can be as high as 40%. Coronavirus has a current mortality rate of around 3 % world wide, interestingly enough in Italy of the 400 or so cases they have had its around a 3% mortaltity rate, in China around 3%. Its interesting the rate stays constant both world wide and in idividual nations regardless of the number affected. It makes me wonder what lab it escaped from in Wuhan and who it was designed to target.

28 Feb 2020 21:42:47
I’m sorry I feel I need to step in here. Kimuraking, that is just utterly uninformed bull. Typical influenza has a far, far lower mortality rate than the 2019 coronavirus. 40% is utter, utter bollocks, do not attempt to make sweeping statements about a subject you clearly have no understanding of. Spanish flu had a mortality rate of between 10 and 20% and it was the worst pandemic in history.

“Worldwide flu kills around 15% of sufferers at its lowest percentage” - spectacularly incorrect.

The 2019 Influenza serotype has a mortality rate of 0.12 to 0.04%. This is typical for a seasonal flu. If the average flu had a mortality rate of 25% we’d be losing about 2% of the population each year to flu - which is obviously not the case, is it?

The mortality rate of the 2019 coronavirus does vary, how can it not? There are so many factors that contribute to it, the mortality rate in Iran is far higher than Italy at the moment - due to the relative healthcare systems. Additionally, I have heard from colleagues that the Italian strain might have several mutations rendering it slightly less virulent than the Iranian strain - where younger people appear to be dying. However this is not proven yet. Unless you are talking about differences in mortality rate of more than a few percent, which is ridiculous.

Do not make up silly and verging on xenophobic theories about China designing this in a lab - it was not. Unless you think Guinea manufactured the Ebola virus too?

These kind of crackpot posts are not helpful, they are not grounded in any semblance of scientific fact and serve only to spread misinformation.

28 Feb 2020 22:06:45
Oh my you people started it here too. There is no escape from it. Everywhere I go, I listen or read about. Im trying my best not to but it's like people are brainwashed with it. Please let this place be free from it, let it be the one place we can escape from talking about it as its getting too much attention than it actually needs.

28 Feb 2020 22:48:56
More people are killed by falling coconuts each year than by sharks.

29 Feb 2020 00:29:42
Dear all

A message from hong konger to all of you. I know some of you must be scared of the coronary virus that China brought to all of us. Here are some advices:

The virus itself is not vital but it is highly contagious, as long as people keep their hygiene level well, all of you will be fine. The worry is the number of infected people which would collapse the whole medical system.

Damx. I bought the ticket for our match against Chelsea. I want to see Hendo win the first champion of premier league for us in live. I hate China.

29 Feb 2020 01:16:56
It makes me wonder which lab the coconuts escaped from and who they were designed to target.

29 Feb 2020 07:04:06
LMAO IDOG.

29 Feb 2020 09:45:10
@berg468 you had to mention the poor sharks, more sharks are killed by people in a day than people killed by sharks in a century.
Oh the inhumanities of it all.

Anyone for shark fin soup?

29 Feb 2020 00:04:29
Actually KloppoUberAlles in 2016 it was estimated that 60% of people that got the HN51 flu virus died. So go back and recheck those googled numbers you quoted. And children have always been at risk from these diseases, always, along with immuno compromised, elderly, and cardiac and respiratory compromised patients, so your Italian colleagues are telling you things that have been known for decades.

The mortality rate for coronavirus is currently at 3 %, not made up that is a fact. Some flues kill as many as 60% of all sufferers that is a fact. And if you think it is a mere coincidence that things like coronavirus, Ebola and other horrendous diseases always seem to start in the poorest, most vulnerable areas of the world that have little attention paid to them them believe that.

I am free to believe that there are people out there that are willing and able to create the most devastating biological weapons that they test and use on people because they can. Some people are dark and they will in the end benefit from this. Same way that an ARV drug cost a few pounds in Sweden but 20 pounds in Africa where HIV rates are much higher and these drugs are needed more. But I suppose that is a conspiracy too.

{Ed033's Note - Shouldn't you be taking this Flu talk to our conspiracy site? Although the conspiracy site doesn't tend to talk about the Flu because it's a non mainstream web site.

29 Feb 2020 10:44:45
Didn’t you know it’s a conspiracy instigated by Man City. If the coronavirus gets so extreme all Premier league games will be played behind closed doors then the only team unaffected by this is City!

29 Feb 2020 10:46:54
Lol what a load of rubbish, I couldn't give a damn about it because it's bugger all, the media make out as if it's huge, the ratio of people who Al have got it is bugger all. Worriers worrying over nothing.

29 Feb 2020 11:08:39
Looking abit of advice from anyone who knows what they r talking about, do u think it's safe for a 70 year old who has no spleen to travel to gran canaria in the morning? I'm trying to convince my mum not to go but shes adamant shes still going.

29 Feb 2020 13:45:43
Not safe at all Roro, make sure she doesn't go mate and get her a mask as well, I'm going to wear one, it's a Halloween hulk one, should protect me from this damn virus! Anything will do with this absolutely devasting disease. See, we're all doomed we just don't know it yet, we live in hope my friend, good luck.
