This loss might be a good thing. We've been riding this unbeaten wave for ages now, the pressure must have been enormous. It wouldn't surprise me if we go and wallop everyone 4-0 in the next 3 fixtures.

For me, I wanted us to go undefeated. Not sure the players cared about that really (or some of them did) . What I will say that Klopp repeatedly said he never cared about all that nonsense and last night's game showed that he was right. Klopp knows his stuff. He lives the reality of football and knows that at this level, going undefeated is difficult esp. in the PL era where lots of teams have very good players and Watford is one of such teams. Not sure that was the case when Arsenal won it but I digress.

In the first game at Anfield, Watford played well enuff to get a point at least so Klopp and the players were fully aware of what they were capable of. Watford played a blinder and were by far the better side. We lost. We dust ourselves up and go back to basics and get better. As for the rival fans, they can do one. Peace.

{Ed025's Note - im glad you came on red meister, i was just wondering how you feel about lovren now?, the wonderful player who you told us all that schooled ronaldo, i was just wondering if you wanted custard with that humble pie mate?.. :)

For me ed025 the guy just doesn’t make the backs things look easy every things he does looks such an effort
With him in the team we will concede penalties on a regular basis as he has not learned how to defend without using wwf wrestling tactics.

{Ed025's Note - im not a fan either john and never have been, he was not the only one who had a bad game yesterday though but i still dont know what he offers mate..

My above post should read basic not backs
But yeah I’m not a fan never have been never will be
But we win as a team and lose as a team
It is funny though quite a few on here are very happy to have a go at Naby on a daily basis but yet when lovren was named the place went into full defence mode lol
For me lovren is not a good defender for a team looking to win titles and champions leagues.

It’s pointless looking to pick a scapegoat.
No one played well, perhaps apart from Alisson who didn’t have much chance with all 3 goals. Trent was terrible, Mane and Salah uncharacteristically quiet.
Firmino, well, pointless having your striker back in your own half when there’s 4 or 5 Watford defenders in behind him.
At no point did Liverpool get beyond the Watford defensive line, something to ponder.
That Watford performance will become the template for playing Liverpool now. It already was, to be fair, but that’s sealed it.
Awful to watch too, boring as.

People need to see the bigger picture. No one is saying Lovren was the only one to blame for the loss in this match although if you listened to Deeneys post match interview you can’t be blamed for thinking he was to blame for 2 of the goals. The point is he is not good enough and has not ever been good enough for lfc. There was a stat during the match that said Firmino hadn’t scored one premier league goal at Anfield this season. If that’s true it’s simply not good enough for our striker. Hopefully tactics will slightly change next season so we are not overly reliant on the top 3. With the amount of crosses from the fullbacks a Weber type player maybe the way to go.

Lovren got bullied alright like watching him against lukaku 13 aerial duels and lost 7 according to the fotmob app and the ones he lost were dangerous

When Watford seem his name on the team sheet I'd say Deeney was licking his lips.

I'm glad I was in the boozer yesterday and let it sink in, as yesterday after the match I could face ranted on. We were just awful, and hopefully its maybe a kick up the backside to refocus everyone, were still going to win the league and we had to get beat at some time, just wish it hadn't been because of such a poor display. and the rest of the team were just as poor as lovren yesterday.
I blamed my wife, the two times she's come to pub with me to watch football this season, a draw to Man Utd, and yesterday's debacle. She is now banned from matchdays in the local. sends her most sincere apologies, and I've put her on a final warning!

I like Firmino, I really do, and I know what he brings to the team in terms of linking play, but I do think his lack of goals is becoming a slight issue. Perhaps bringing in someone like Werner who is more of a goalscorer than Bobby may be the thing that really helps us push onto the next level?

Ed25, nice tyo see you are back. Let me break this down to you cos using straw-man arguments is for the weak-minded, which I am not. It is true that Lovs shut down CR7 in the CL final. That is a fact. Oh, he also assisted Mane's equalizer in that game. Also, Lovs has had brilliant perfs. for us this season esp. vs City where again, he shut down Aguero. It is also true, that Lovs had a bad game vs Watford and so did VVD and Trent, the front three and every other LFC player on the pitch.

Furthermore, Lovs had not played a single game for LFC in weeks hence, he was clearly out of rhythm unlike Gomez who has been playing and would have had a better perf. clearly had he not be injured and had to miss out. Clearly, that flew over your head but not surprised., Just facts, bro.
Moral of the story, bro? Multiple things can be correct at the same time. This is not an either/ or situation which is what your straw-man argument is and again, it is for the weak-minded, which I am not.

You don't rate Lovs. Fine and I'm not arsed about your opinion, one bit cos you are the same guy who said that Pinkford was at the same level as Allison. I stopped caring, right there, lol. I rate Lovs cos he is a fighter, shows bravery and and does not hide in games, mistakes or not. He shut down every CF that came his way in the last WC including the beloved Harry Kane, fact. Had VVD shown the same fight, and bravery Lovs showed, he would not have been as dreadful as Lovs was. Peace and Love.

Johnnyr1970, I'm sorry but I'm not having any of that. Anytime we lose or don't play well, this argument pops up again and again. This is common knowledge that Bobbie's goalscoring rate is not like your typical top CF but again apart from Robert Lewandowski, no CF can do what he can do in our system.

Also, it's not like he can't hit a barn door either. He has averaged 15 a season since he came to us (and his assists numbers are thru the roof) and this season alone, he has scored in big, tight games that actually got us over the line (see Wolves, Spurs and CWC) so your argument is flawed right there, IMO. Look, we lost. We were poor from top to bottom w/ o exception. We have to do better. Leave the scapegoating alone. It is counterproductive.

Wasn't looking to make Firmino a scapegoat RedMeister. Just to reiterate, I really do rate him as a player but. there's no room for sentiment in football and if Werner can bring the same type of forward play AND score 20 goals per season rather than 15 then it's that type of player who I want to see the club bring in to keep us where we currently are.
