This is the dip in the season that always comes no matter who you are but it couldn't have come at a worse time. Three losses in four games over three competitions, conceded six and scored none in the last three games. The chance to be invincibles gone, the chance of a treble gone. Take in to account the last two leauge games we won were not deserved, if Norwhich and Westham had of come away with a point or even three from those games no one could complain. VvD is playing poorly, Hendo is out injured and the front three look flat and ineffective. So the core of the team has been badly affected.

The game on Saturday against Bournemouth is now a huge must win. Not because we need the points, the league is done and we will win it, but because if we struggle and don't get a result and more importantly a performance on saturday then come wednesday next week the pitch against Althletico is going to look mighty small and very hard to score on when we play them. The team looks low on confidence and a little flat. Going out of the Champions Leauge would be a tough pill to swallow as all that will be left would be plodding through the remaining games needed to win the title. And if Liverpool play poorly Saturday that will go through to wednesday and who knows when they will shake it off. The last thing we want is to win the leauge by staggering over the line with a few more poor defeats and a possible tonking at the Etihad to boot. Time to get back to that winning mentality and sharp football, it starts saturday and goes on through the rest of the season, can't be invincible or treble winners but a double is always nice.

I get what you are saying mate, I just want the title. Let’s forget everything else. I firmly believe it’s down to Henderson injury. He’s been incredible this season and the players have dropped their levels since he went out. As said below, Millie can play the part until he comes back.

04 Mar 2020 09:54:32
But it's not down to just Hendo's injury. People are forgetting the games that we won when he wasn't playing and there were plenty of those. Pretty much everyone played really poorly against Watford and there wasn't much of an improvement against Chelsea. You can look and talk about the the different areas and different aspects as much as you want, but if you don't put the ball into their net more than they do in ours, we don't get to go home with the marbles.

A team wide mid-season blip which is an annual occurrence, with some key players lacking confidence (VVD, Wijnaldum, Firmino and Salah) . They'll get back into gear; just a question of when.

04 Mar 2020 10:08:25
We have to change something. And I don’t mean personal, Diego Simeone has figured us out and now everyone is doing it. They’re sitting deep then breaking with purpose, we’re having all the ball but we can’t do anything with it.
What I will say though which is worrying, when Trent doesn’t play, or is having a bad game, we lose 90% of our creativity.

04 Mar 2020 10:32:11
Simeone hasn’t found us out, teams have been doing this against top sides for years. Both Watford and Chelsea had plenty of possession against us and the Chelsea game was really open in the first half and with a bit of luck it could have been us going in at half time with a lead.
You have to remember the Nucleus of the side has played a lot of games this year and the bust December period might be catching up on them, it’s a blip and hopefully we can turn it round on Wednesday, I would personally rotate a fair few on Saturday.

We needed this. This invincibility cloak was all false. It would give management the wrong impression on certain players.
Lallana - time to move on
Curtis - not ready yet. Maybe a loan will help.
Takumi - must play is own game and stop trying to be Firmino
Origi - time to move on. unless he plays down the middle because he is ineffective from the wings.
Our midfield - needs industry and guile. Lallana and Curtis are the same type of player. Fab was playing by himself. we need a 10.
Defense - a bit shaken but with Lovren leaving and Sepp not ready, we need another quality CB.
Attack - has become stale and predictive and needs competition.

Fergie was not shy to let players like Stam, Beckam, Van Nistelroy and the like leave. If Salah and Mane move on, so must we. They have become a one pony trick. They need space to be dangerous but cannot dribble pass players.

We will win the league. Doubts still linger our CL and we cannot keep relying on Anfield atmosphere. We do not move the ball quicker to break down a 6-9 man defence and need other plans to do so.

Shakiri and Keita are too injury prone and sadly need to be moved on. This squad Klopp has built has reached is "refresh" date.

Not ranting. Being realistic.

If anything I would say it's the opposite; we've found all the other teams out. The unbeaten run which just finished was no joke and no easy feat. We started this over two years ago with the famous "Salah year" (if anyone has been found out it's him because now teams double and triple team him and his goal production is halved) . We were running riot and yet letting in easy goals. Klopp adjusted tactics, added players and found out exactly what was needed to face the various types of football styles in the EPL and the UCL. We came to within 1 point of the eventual EPL champion and still won the UCL. He tweaked it further and here we are. At the summit of the EPL and still a UCL contender.

What's all the doom and gloom all about?

04 Mar 2020 11:30:49
I'm not sure anyone has "found us out". Hendo is injured. Virgil is in dreadful form. Trent and Robertson are probably just knackered. Wijnaldum has been worse than Virgil. Fabinho and Mane clearly aren't fully fit. Milner, Keita, Shaqiri and Gomez have all missed games lately. So its fallen on Salah, Alisson and Firmino to try and carry us. Ox has done too. Trouble is Salah and Firmino aren't prolific, Ox is criminally under played by Klopp, and Alisson is only a goalkeeper so whilst he can keep us in games, he can't win them on his own.

It's a bad patch. Our first in over a year. Move along and just hope we sort it in time for the return leg at Anfield. If not, we're still very likely to win the league and we'll come back stronger next year.

04 Mar 2020 11:32:09
That sounds just like the sort of pessimism I heard all through the heyday of the seventies and eighties. All rubbish, all past it, all found out, all need replacing. Get a grip. We’ve lost a game or three, we miss Hendo’s drive, we’ll get over it and be back in the groove. I’m not surprised by the blip, anyone else really truthfully surprised? Keep the faith.

04 Mar 2020 11:57:54
Also remember this was the 3rd away game out of the last 4 played. That does have an impact. I know our form hasn't been great (and still isn't), but even with this we have been able to get over the line in front of our home support. Let's hope we are able to on Saturday.

04 Mar 2020 12:26:30
its just 4-5 slow games to be honest and am only worried about how tanked we looked in the Watford game. I think the Chelsea game was ok.
We needed a game like city or everton sooner to get back to our best because those kind of games bring in a lot of motivation.

04 Mar 2020 12:50:58
Theres only one person to blame here. Daragh from Donegal, we havnt won a match since he wrote that damn letter lol.

04 Mar 2020 12:53:36
Seriously mane can't dribble past anyone look at him getting in the box from a throw last night around 3-4 players and getting a decent shot off and salah is completely surrounded most of the game soon as he gets the ball 3 players head towards him we play a dangerous style not just in attack we leave ourselves open this has been years nothing new this season we traditionally have a poor run of games after a break it happens maybe the training in the break needs tweaking but the team has done amazing next year if we win the league go for a double treble quadruple what ever but the only important thing this season is 4 more league wins before the season is out nothing else matters.

04 Mar 2020 15:55:30
I hate it when Liverpool are poor, I really do, it devastates me at the time, but we could argue that it has come at the best time in the sense that we have a large points advantage in the league which for me is number one target this year, then UCL, then FA Cup. and I'm confident enough that we'll pick up form again before too long.

Often though is it not so much the defeat, its the manner of them that usually wind me up because apart from Watford and Chelsea who did outplay us, we are rarely beaten because we've been out-played, its usually down to silly mistakes.

04 Mar 2020 15:58:26
Radio were saying this morning in the games against Athletico, Watford and Chelsea they all used a single striker who tried to bully the defence and then launched long diagonal balls to catch our full backs out who were both pushed right up the pitch and it caused us issues in all 3 games. I can't remember for the life of me if they did in the Athletico game but the diagonal balls stick out from Watford and last night and they did cause us major issues. Could it just be a case where we leave the full backs back defensively and nip that threat in the bud. The only problem then is the front 3 would be on their own as both full backs are our highest assiters aren't they?

04 Mar 2020 16:00:58
I'm kinda on the fence here. I agree we are going through a bad patch, and I actually agree with some of Decelticon's points - I made similar assertions a couple of days ago about players that may move on.

However, there's not a much BETTER time that such a bad patch could have happened. let's imagine it happened in October - could have seriously derailed us.

Right now the most important thing is the league. And we would struggle not to win a further 4 games, hopefully starting with Bournemouth on Saturday.

We don't have the strength in depth that City have, we know that, so this summer becomes another step in the gradual renewal process to replace players like Lallana, Clyne, Lovren etc with better quality that will push and/ or replace first teamers.

I still believe we have the best first 11 on the planet, and that's not something I've been able to say with confidence for quite a number of years! Now we just need to improve it even further!

04 Mar 2020 16:40:38
Lol. Can’t believe what I’m reading. Lost 2 league games in the last 70 or so fixtures and now we’ve been ‘found out’?! Get a grip. It’s a small blip. EVERY team has them. A good win in the next game and we’ll get a mojo back. Amazing what short memories people have.

04 Mar 2020 20:25:42
And there it is again. The same old schstick "Simeone found us out". How? Cos they won a game by scoring a freakish, lucky goal and their players flopping to the ground holding their faces and trying to get our boys sent off? Teams have been doing that to us for the pass 3 years and suddenly now we have been found out after walking the PL, winning the CL and CWC and the Super Cup? Pls, give it a rest as it is embarrassing.

Athletico are dreadful in La Liga and many of the fans are fed up with the "park the bus" crap Simeone has been serving up that many actually want him gone esp. cos he hasn't won jack in 3 seasons. We are having a blip and the boys are clearly mentally and psychologically knackered and it has nothing to do with "teams figuring us out" and saying that repeatedly will not make it true, IMO.

People forget that completely mad December we had where we won every game in every comp. we played in esp. vs Leicester where as Ed01 saying in the podcast, LFC were jet-lagged going into that game and thru sheer will power alone, we pummeled LC an made it look easy. These immense outpourings of physical and mental effort is what we are now paying for. All we have to do is keep working hard, keep calm and play our way out of it. Just my opinion.

04 Mar 2020 21:10:46
I think everyone is so emotional over the last three decades of maybe’s. It’s okay, we’re going to do it. Those going to the Bournemouth game, get behind the lads and never let up singing. Ynwa.

04 Mar 2020 23:34:04
Many need to tone down the dramatic panicking based on a few poor outings. Yes we've had struggles but in a small number of tough away games with the team being chopped and changed.

I can't believe some of the stuff I just read above.
VVD is in dreadful form.
Trent and robbo are knackered.
We need another quality CB.
Fabinho isn't the same.
Without hendo were useless.
Mane and salah are one trick ponies.
Salah isn't prolific.
Jones not up to scratch.
Minamino is trying to be firmino.
Simeone and others figured us out.
This team has peaked and will regress.

Come on let's not base every thing on 3 or 4 games. Trent and robbo are still threatening and creating. Gomez and vvd have been immense up until last 2 weeks. Fabinho is rusty after injury, hendo has played in many other games where we've been as poor. Mane and salah are still climbing the goal charts. No one has suddenly "figured us out" all of a sudden and we are not facing into a period of falling to pieces.

Take a deep breath guys. 2 games at anfield awaits including Europe under the lights which will be electrifying.
