A slightly different question, I read that a French TV provider is trying to sue their league for simply moving their fixtures to midweek during the yellow vest protests last year. Has the Premier league TV monies for this season already been paid? And if so will sky, BT and overseas providers expect money back as their contracts based over a 38 game season will not have been fulfilled. If it hasn't been paid yet would they withhold it?

{Ed002's Note - It is of zero relevance to the PL.}

Agree0 Disagree0

So all pre agreed games earmarked for broadcasting don't have to be fulfilled to satisfy contracts? I assumed if you pay for a product and you don't get you would expect your money back, no matter how unpleasant the circumstances.

{Ed002's Note - If the broadcasters want to pay a reduced amount for the games they need to discuss it with the PL who might not be so keen to re-award contracts in the future. These are exceptional circumstances and it is a totally different situation to the rest of Europe. You are looking for problems that simply are not there.}

You are completely correct Ed, I'm obviously panicking that the best season we are ever likely to have may be stricken from the records. I noticed the national league is still playing today and if they complete their season it will add to the problems concerning promotion and Relegation (what would happen with Bolton and their points deduction) It looks like an absolute minefield in terms of what will/ should happen.

{Ed002's Note - There are several options but there are different ruling bodies. The FA could look to mandate a solution but right now the focus is on something else entirely. As far as the Premier League go, there is already one proposal on the table as I explained yesterday. Others will no doubt be suggested if it comes to it. They will look to completing the season if they can, if not the alternate options come in to play.}

Thanks for the replies Ed, apologies for clutching at straws but I was 7 the last time we won the league title and sods law doesn't seem to cover what's happening right now.

{Ed002's Note - I understand people are concerned but everyone wants the season completed Den and I certainly hope that can happen.}

In the same Den, was 9 last time they won it. My boy is now 10 and a huge fan himself, was so hoping that on 21st of March, my birthday, I would be sitting with him celebrating after the Palace game. But in all honesty the world has bigger problems at the moment.

I have asked my son to go to the elderly neighbours we have on our street and ask if they need help or need anything from the shops and have been on shopping and errand runs this morning. We love football and we love watching Liverpool but as neither are happening right now we are doing the small amount we can for the most vulnerable we have close by us.

Just hope this virus leaves as quickly as it came and as few people as possible are affected and we can get back to singing our songs and following our team.

I hear you Kim it's all pretty worrying. I've just spoken with my parents who were due to visit for my sons birthday but we have cancelled as they both have underlying health issues. We live in Tidworth which houses over 10000 troops and their families so I would imagine a matter of time before it's everywhere here. Worse still my mother works in a care home and suffers from asthma so I'm crossing my fingers she will be OK.

IMO, everyone needs to stop panicking about this "season voided" stuff cos it is a non starter as a first option. It is not in anyone's interest, really. The PL are not interested in cancelling the season and are not working hard and fast on that, IMO. Their first option is to find every way to finish the season even if it will mean cramming games into a short schedule or what have you.

People need to get out of this LFC bubble and think on a wider scale. I mean, does anyone think teams like Wolves, Utd and Sheffield want the season cancelled when they have realistic chances of making it to the top 4? Of course they don't and that goes for the teams in the current relegation spots. The PL know that and are working on things, as Ed02 has repeatedly said on here so let the guys work while we make sure all our families, friends and everyone remain safe and healthy. Peace and Good health to all!

Rm like you do with everyone else could I ask you to elaborate please. You say cancelling the season is a non starter as a first option and the premier league are not interested in cancelling it. What is your source please? You then go on to say it’s your opinion. So is it an opinion or fact because you seem pretty sure the premier league are not interested in cancelling and it’s a non starter.

JK23, read my post again and you will find that I referred to Ed02 and what he/ she has been saying about them working hard to finish the PL. If you have info to debunk what he/ she is saying then, you should ELABORATE and provide it.

Ed02 has said repeatedly that finishing the season is what the PL are working on and after that, all other options will be considered. That is where my opinion comes from. The fact that I have to say this is mind-boggling but there are worse things going on in the world, clearly.

Now, this may be foreign to you but it is possible to have an opinion based on information/ facts being provided to you by those in-the-know (Ed02). Like I said if you have facts to debunk what Ed02 has provided. Peace.

RM I READ your post again. You stated that the season voided was a non STARTER and that the PL are not interested in cancelling the league. To me that sounds like you have a source within the league or you’re just making it up. Nothing said is FOREIGN to me. Everything is changing daily. This time 4 days ago it was reported that games wouldn’t be cancelled they would be played behind closed doors. Look how quickly that changed. Everyone is entitled to their opinion hence why I asked about yours. PEACE.
