Just reading an article on football clubs using furlough for low paid staff while high paid footballers are keeping thier wages absolutely disgraceful . hats if to Barcelona for players taking 70% paycut and Juventus freezing wages for 4 months I surely hope our club follows the foreign trend I'm not sure if I would go to another game again if they done that to the working class and all the players stood by and did nothing.

It is absolutely disgraceful that at this time the people at the top aren't supporting the people at the bottom. I haven't heard anything from LFC but I hope nobody in this club is being left to walk alone.
As for Barca, I believe the club is near broke and it was a matter of you are taking, not, will you take, a pay cut.
On a personal note I hope all my fellow reds are looking after themselves and their families. Be careful and be safe.

I hope we do the same as Barcelona did even tho, it has come with a lot of drama.

In the medium to long term, and with the current economic losses and the losses to come, wages will probably come down for everyone; regardless of what you do for the club. I don't believe the players will be immune to this whether they voluntarily agree to this or are forced into it.

I don’t think there is a right answer here, players are obviously on huge wages and could help out the staff. But they need to do it on their own back rather than it being put on them by the club.

However I agree that what spurs and Newcastle leaves a sour taste. The whole point of the furlough system put in place by the government was for businesses struggling to pay there staff and mean that they didn’t in turn struggle to make ends meet. Football clubs are multi million pound organisations and could surely take the hit for a month or two for the staff, which at the end of the day are the individuals that put it all together.

What those clubs have done strikes me as a loophole to save some cash, and I bet they are both posting a multi million pound profit come accounts time or taking a huge chunk of cash.
