I understand how rubbishty the furlough of staff at the club is. I am not defending it. I want to point out that Disney has furloughed all Executives and Salaried staff. That company makes 8 billion a quarter. They are not going to oa yuh the rest of their cast after the 18th.

I worked for Disney for 8 years and have many close friends with families who are out of work for the foreseeable future. It sucks.
But the majority understand that this is necessary evil right now.
It's just my two cents.

I also greatly understand how fortunate I am to not be furloughed and able to work. Very blessed.

Stay safe everyone, and hopefully w e will be back to normal soon

Well city have declared they will not furlough their staff. Say what you will about them but they deserve respect and applause for that.

{Ed002's Note - And Manchester City did a Liverpool a major favour recently, yet Liverpool went after them with CAS causing themselves a great deal of embarrassment.}

Disney, or anyone else who doesn't need this scheme, taking it up doesn't make it okay for us to do it.

Something Red - I understand what you are saying but how does any business truly know if they do or do not need the scheme at the moment? With so many variants and each government is handling the outbreak differently meaning data models are just that an estimate.

Business have to think about short, medium and long term if things don't get back to normal till the end of the year the impact will be huge no matter how much profit as a business we previously made.

I do feel LFC acted too quickly to do this but if this goes on till end of the summer many more will follow. No business is safe.

Dont understand what that has to do with the furloughing Ed? the club are in the wrong here, big time but it has nothing to do with whether us or city are telling tales on each other.

{Ed002's Note - You don't get the point I am afraid.}

this furlough scheme is intended for small firms who are struggling and try to keep and pay their small staff during this awful time .
it def not intended for the Mega Rich .
I am ashamed of Liverpool Football Club .
I have supported LFC for over 50 years, and this is a sad time, I am waiting for Hendo to come out with some plan to save face, we def need some good news .

Ed loves kicking us Jason, it's just a shame the club provide him amo.

How many employees does Disney have though? And what are their regular overheads? I work for a large house builder who make big profits but imagine having to pay a nation of staff and getting no productivity and also going forward not knowing what affect this will have on the business? I for one am sweating a little over the whole situation.
Liverpool in comparison employ a small number of staff and have currently only furloughed 200 staff, doesn’t seem worth it for the bad press.

{Ed001's Note - Disney can still bring in money during this. They do have income streams such as Disney+ that will continue to earn for little outgoing.}

Yes bit irrelevant to be honest ed2.

Wait till all the facts and figures are revealed before casting aspersions I would say.

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea what you are talking about. Have you got the right post.}
