WYred. Why should we ask all 19 teams if we deserve the title without playing any more games this season? Only the team that can mathematically catch us (is it Man City only? ) should be consulted. That's why I don't understand when supporters of other teams say the season should be declared void, thus LFC being denied the title.

Because all participants would need to vote on the outcome of the competition. As it’s effectively changing the rules mid season.

And rival fans would find it hilarious if it was voided and they also say it to get bites out of us Liverpool fans as we have wanted to see our team win the league for 30 years.

{Ed002's Note - Nobody has suggested the season is to be voided - I have explained that over and over.}

24 Apr 2020 17:15:40
Not voided Ed but ended as it is now the same as the Dutch league has just done with Ajax not awarded the title. With this I’m mind everyone needs to accept we won’t get the title. It’s crystal clear as has been explained.

{Ed002's Note - The individual leagues will make the decision on what to do.}

24 Apr 2020 18:58:45
WYRed, why do you care what a rival fan who does not want the best for LFC, have to say, exactly?

24 Apr 2020 19:41:13
I don't but my point was to the original poster, in that the only people asking for it to be voided are rival fans.

24 Apr 2020 19:42:05
Why is wy getting so much stick hear I've always found his posts to be decent and his opinion matters as much as any member of this site end of the day we would not be 25 point ts clear if it wasn't for the other 18 teams we have played this season it isn't just city they all gave us points and deserve a voice but that's not for any of us to decide ynwa.

24 Apr 2020 19:03:37
Ok Ed, was just going on what has been said about the way the Eredivisie has gone and that it’s likely other leagues will follow there lead.

{Ed002's Note - The leagues are discussing the options - as I have explained may times.}

24 Apr 2020 21:26:55
If Liverpool don't win the league by whatever means it will be a travesty. We are not talking about a team a few points clear here. If it did come down to a vote a 4 maybe 5 PL clubs vote against it because of Liverpools past misconduct towards them then they are no better. It will be down to spite, and getting their own back, no more and no less.

{Ed002's Note - You are making it sound like it is someone else’s fault. If it goes to a vote the clubs voting no will be the clubs that have been deliberately hurt by Liverpool - it will be a massive self inflicted wound. Recent events that Liverpool have not learned lessons at all. I understand that there could be an attempt to offer a half sized reproduction trophy.}

It pains me to say it but Liverpool position and record this season will not be favoured in any overall decision making.

Ideally, a select team of unbiased people would decide the champions debate, if applicable.
But unfortunately it would be in the hands of rivals and clubs we've upset over the years.

That scenario wouldn't be decided on 'sporting merit', but by a tad of spite.

Cheers berg! That’s one that listens to my opinions 😂

And Irish if they have to finish the season now then that title decision will be out of our hands.

But if a team votes against us for the way we have acted at a corporate level that’s on us.

If it goes as far as a vote, I’d guess teams would abstain rather than say no but that’s just my opinion. I’ll be honest I’m not sure who we have annoyed other than city and us getting involved in their ban with UEFA. No idea what our relationship with Southampton is like after VVD.

However what will be will be, we just have to see how it unfolds.

24 Apr 2020 23:53:45
I will say it again. If a club uses Liverpools past misconduct to not come to the correct decision then they are equally as bad. It's as clear as day for me.
Do unto others as you would like them to do to you.

25 Apr 2020 08:04:37
That surely applies to Liverpool’s wrong doings then Irish? If teams use our previous and pretty recent misconduct against us, then it would be brutal Karma.

25 Apr 2020 11:10:12
It sure does Shaq. I've never denied that, but Liverpools misconduct has been done, it doesn't mean you must follow suit. Does that make you any better? Not in my book. Maybe Liverpool need to be shown how to behave? Maybe it won't be until a change of ownership that aren't so morally bankrupt?

People using the Dutch League as some kind of example of how voiding the PL season could be workable, are missing some salient differences here. First off, the top 2 (Ajax and AZ Alkmaar) are level on points. Not the case with the PL this season as LFC 2 country miles ahead.

Secondly, there are tonnes of money involved in the PL (contracts, PL contracts with worldwide broadcasters, etc. ) that need to be sorted should the season is voided and those are cans of worms that nobody even knows how things are going to play out. The legal issues would be so complicated. There is a reason why Ed02 has said the null and void option is not even being discussed at these meetings.

{Ed002's Note - The legal issues are not a major hassle. Talks are going on between the Premier League themselves (there was a meeting yesterday) and after there was another discussion with the broadcasters - there are differing views amongst the clubs on many issues. There was also a little spat between two clubs yesterday - but everything will eventually get agreed.}

Irish, the way we act doesn't appear to just be at the owners door, Klopp has made mistakes too.

I think when, or more to the point if, the vote takes place clubs will decide based on the season rather than how we act. But that could just be me looking at it positively.

If clubs decide to get one over on us for a way we have behaved then we just have to accept that. And learn from it.

25 Apr 2020 13:18:25
Thanks for the info as always, Ed02.

{Ed002's Note - You are welcome.}

25 Apr 2020 17:01:02
The final decision will not be made through spite or revenge . It will be made to save lives . All players and staff will need testing and until there is enough spare capacity in the system pastimes will have to wait . Perspective needed .

25 Apr 2020 17:14:58
Irish your argument truly baffles me . If clubs act badly they are as bad as us seems to be your attitude . Our club and some of our fans ( like all clubs and fans ) have acted deplorably in the past . Decisions at meetings aren't made with revenge in mind . This one has to be safety and revenue in that order .
