Morning Ed002, Just wondering if you would have chance today to put us a transfer update together on targets in and out and any new developments please.

{Ed002's Note - You will need to wake another week until the situation is better understood.}

Agree0 Disagree0

No worries Ed, have a good day mate.

{Ed002's Note - I would not have high expectations for this summer.}

Could be that we go for free transfers to replace any outgoing.
Available are Ryan Fraser, Mario Goetze, Willian and Jan Vertongen.

Personally I would promote Curtis Jones and Billy Elliot, maybe take Vertongen as Lovren replacement and cover LB.

Ed when you say I would not have high expectations is that the same for all of usual top 7, as we were at the point of suspension performing the best both on an off the pitch we seemed to be in a position too strengthen, with this pandemic does this now mean teams who are cash rich eg city, man united, chelsea etc are in a better position than us too spend .

{Ed002's Note - Any cash rich side is in a better position than any club which manages their finances closer to the edge. It is really not rocket science.}

04 May 2020 12:24:07
So you would say our finances are close to the edge.

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool are certainly not cash rich and have debts coming due in July that must be paid. Having now mortgaged all of the fixed assets Liverpool can borrow against that - but that was never the plan.}

Thanks ed for info, wow so we aren't as secure as I thought and it's crazy how quick we can become vulnerable in the market and as a result could make us weaker in the league, I thought with FFP things would be more even especially as teams have been stung by it recently . I don't like the idea of a club having too loan too move forward it's not healthy even though I am aware liverpool have been doing that prob for Last 20 years.

I can settle for de bruyne as the only incoming - no probs.

04 May 2020 19:25:42
If we got de bruyne we are seriously stacked only thing with him is he seems to be getting injured more frequently and his price tag and wages would be beyond our spendage especially the info ed has given.

langland, would Billy bring his dance shoes?

Surprised at you mentioning debts falling due Ed. Just have been looking and then may 19 accounts and they looked really good. Net bank debt down to £12m and even the inter company debt (which I imagine is to fsg) came down £20m. They hardly looking a highly leveraged club?

Not got far in reading the accounts as yet though but am working through it it

Appreciate accounts are always out of date by the time they get published but don’t see why debt would of changed much?

Or is it transfer fee instalments that are payable?

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool have significant player payments falling due in June and will have to make an adjustment for monies claimed that have no arrived.}

05 May 2020 20:15:55
Got it now, there’s a £50m bank loan falling due in Sept 20. There’s a credit facility charged against the assets they could use, but you’d imagine they’d just refinance the senior debt. Shouldn’t be hard to do given the strength of the balance sheet.

{Ed002's Note - There are significant payments for players falling due in June. The loan is recent - and involves all of the assets being mortgages - including those purchsed with CPOs - and it is not intended for transfers or for paying debts.}
