Sounds like significant steps made today on getting the football restarted on June 17th. I just hope there isn't a second wave of the Virus between now and then. Ed was it discussed today how the season ends of it can't get completed mate?

{Ed002's Note - Yes, but there was no clear agreement.

Different opinions and ideas From different teams no doubt?

{Ed002's Note - As opposed to?}

28 May 2020 20:23:40
Sorry Ed002, no clear agreement on what exactly? Would there not have had to be a clear agreement to restart, given that broadcasters have announced it and fixtures have been put in place?

{Ed002's Note - You did not read the post.}

28 May 2020 21:03:05
Apologies Ed, wasn’t sure which part it related to. Was the ending of the season just discussed then, as opposed to concrete proposals being put forward?

{Ed002's Note - No, proposals were discussed but there is no agreement.}

28 May 2020 21:36:58
Are things any clearer as regards to venues Ed?

{Ed002's Note - The plans are home venues can be used except for derbies, critical games and for any teams whose fans cannot be trusted - in which case neutral venues will be used.}

28 May 2020 23:14:35
Critical games Ed it’s the end of the season cl and el places to fight for relegation to be sorted. Liverpool have nearly won the league but they have still got to win it not to many games that won’t be critical they have left one hell of a grey Area there and that’s before all the over stuff. So it looks like neutral venues then.

{Ed002's Note - As it stands right now the critical games will be the games between relegation contenders. Derbies are planned to be shifted and right now there will be no games at Anfield because it is seen the that the fans cannot be trusted. So Arsenal/Spurs, West Ham/Chelsea, etc. will be elsewhere.}

29 May 2020 00:13:53
Ed002 After seeing all the beaches over the bank holiday saying that about football fans seems a bit of a joke. But to finish the league even though it’s not the right way to play games I think it’s the fairest way to sort everything out. Then next season is probably going to start this way and hopefully end the right way.

{Ed002's Note - I think to be fair all games at neutral venues would have been the answer - but some clubs complained about that.}

29 May 2020 00:27:11
Liverpool fans can’t be trusted? How very dare you! 😉.

29 May 2020 06:46:10
No games at Anfield. Wow, I didn’t expect that tbh.

29 May 2020 06:52:39
Odd to single out teams and games for neutral grounds. I can't see how that is fair. All teams have a number of games they need to win even LFC still need two more. Playing Everton at Brighton would be strange, I would rather Wembley or even a training ground tbh. Not another Prem team ground.

29 May 2020 08:58:27
I agree ed neutral venues would have been better. I think Brighton that was most vocal about it because of who they had at home with there form I would not of thought they would have won any of the big teams they had at home. But playing the other teams who they should play away would be more of an advantage. If I was a Brighton fan I would rather have that.

{Ed001's Note - not one team has fans that can be trusted to not turn up at the ground. Not one. But neutral venues are not much better, as the bigger teams have fans spread all over the country and they can be trusted just as little as the ones locally. It was different in Germany as, in the main, people there follow rules and obey. Not always a good thing, but at times like this it is.}

29 May 2020 12:21:50
ED02 comment regarding Liverpool fans can't be trusted. Yet again, you throw some shade at us. What is with your relentless hate for us? If it was another team in the same position I imagine their fans might be of the same persuasion, would you then comment on that if it was mentioned they couldn't be trusted?

{Ed002's Note - I am assuming you are some sort of half wit. Yesterday at the Premier League meeting the police stated the twelve high-risk games they want moved to a neutral venue. It seems completely pointless sharing information with vegetable matter like you.}

29 May 2020 12:33:06
What a silly bunch of rules and seems unfair on all teams IMO. It's either neutral or not all round surely. Either way, we will still win the league but doesn't seem right. Just make all play at neutral venues and it's a level playing field.

29 May 2020 13:01:26
What would you do ed1? I think it's either one or the other, can't be a mixture of the two surely.

{Ed001's Note - has to be neutral venues if they aren't going to allow some to take place at the home venue.}

29 May 2020 14:58:38
I saw a potential list of games online, no idea how true it is but it effected some of our away games to. So if they need a couple of our games at neutral venues so be it.

The team have done incredibly well to get in the position we are in, so shouldn't impact our overall goal too much. and if this is a sacrifice that needs to be made by the club to ensure safety and benefit project restart then I'm all for it.

29 May 2020 13:58:10
Thinks Eds have it spot on. Everyone should play at neutral venues, no fans, nothing. No one gets an advantage. Maybe correct me if I'm wrong Eds, but to allow teams to play at the intended venues, and then also having neutral venues makes it more complex?

Also on a less serious matter, I'd love to know what constitutes as a neutral venue? Maybe get everyone playing in the Scottish stadiums?

{Ed002's Note - There is a list of eight stadiums belonging to Premier League clubs that were to be used when it looked like all games would be at neutral grounds. Two others (St Georges Park and Wembley) were discussed and rejected by a number of sides. Now, with between six and 12 games to be played at neutral grounds, the venues are being reconsidered.}

29 May 2020 13:59:08
Just read that it's not just our home games they want to move its also any game we are involved in where we might win the title so Newcastle may lose their home game against us as well depending on results, obviously the Derby will move.

{Ed002's Note - The full list of games is as follows: Everton v Liverpool, Spurs v West Ham, Liverpool v Crystal Palace, Manchester United v Sheffield United, West Ham v Chelsea, Manchester City v Liverpool, Liverpool v Aston Villa, Manchester City v Newcastle, Liverpool v Burnley, Spurs v Arsenal, Liverpool v Chelsea, Newcastle v Liverpool. Undecided over Crystal Palace v Chelsea. It will likely be reduced to six or seven is what was said yesterday.}

29 May 2020 18:11:25
Merseyside Police have apparently said that they have no objection to Liverpool and Everton playing their games at home.

29 May 2020 22:32:37
It has nothing to do with Liverpool fans being untrustworthy. It is simply because we are the team that look set to win the title and therefore have something to celebrate. Had another team been in our position, it would be them that would have to play at neutral venues.

29 May 2020 22:33:41
Pity they couldn't play Arsenal at Stokes ground because they were absolutely crap when they played there.
