So here is my question of the day.

Who in your opinion is the most successful player in the Premier League era to have achieved what they did whilst being one of the least talent players of their generation / era / team?

Exclude players who have won things by merely sitting on the bench etc. So someone who played regularly, had little natural talent, but achieved what they did through dedication and hard graft.

Keen to here everyones thoughts.

Agree0 Disagree0

Most of the Man Utd players under Fergie!

Ryan Giggs, Ronaldo from Manchester United and our very own Xabi Alonso stand out for me. Jamie Carragher deserves a mention as he only missed out on EPL and World Club winners medals at domestic level.

I was thinking Phil Neville or Nicky Butt.

But KingCarlos has made me have second thought with the Carragher shout.

I always think of Arbeloa. 1 World Cup. 2 European championships. 2 champions league winners medals. Enough said, but I Never rated him 😂.

I have never worked out how Paul Konchesky was awarded a professional contract at any of his eleven clubs. Lots of his games were in the lower leagues but he also had many Premiership appearances.

He even scored against us in an FA cup final!

Xabi alonso?! Surely one of the finest players to grace the Premier league.

Nicholas bendtner for me.

I’m looking forward to reading Ed’s article on Giggs, I am really surprised to see people questioning his talent. Will be interesting to see Ed reflect back on Giggs’ career.

Yeah I was surprised lfc hopeful. Brilliant winger.

30 May 2020 20:25:13
Giggs, Ronaldo and Alonso least talented of their era/ generation King Carlos. Darren Fletcher, John O Shea of Man Utd and Joe Hart of Man City.
