If Chelsea do sign Havertz and a left back then they are certainly challenging for the title best season. Havertz is an exceptional talent. Probably the best CAM out there in terms jr talent and age.

Still got a poor keeper though and you can’t win the premier league if you ship goals left right and centre, we proved that with Mignolet.

Dare I say it he is Zidane-esque in his play but I think it would be heaping too much expectation on him to state he will become the new Zidane. He may, however, become the new benchmark. But for every Zidane there are 100s of Goetzes/ Morrisons/ Balotellis and even the occasional Bruno Cheyrou.

I think they could be a good challenger. It'll no doubt be closer next year.

A lot is going to depend on how all these new players settle and how quick. It's already a big change moving country but moving country during a global virus, limited association and travel extra is a lot of change.

They're still a long way off imo. Can spend all the money in the world, it doesn't mean instant success, they have a lot of changes needing to be made before they can challenge for this title. Liverpool and City are too far ahead and will be for some time yet.

You really think they are done yet 😂😂. You are talking about a man who could buy half of the Europe and still function normally 😅😅😅. Roman is a tank of an owner.
They could also finish second ☺️☺️☺️.

StEtienneAmen Zidane-esque he might be a good player but as a player he is nothing like Zidane. Zidane was the most grace full footballer I think I have ever seen seem to float round the pitch like a ballerina.

Radio Jockey, Abramovich doesn’t spend his own money anymore, they’re self sufficient and very aware of the FFP rules. You have to remember they still have money coming in from Hazard and Morata. I imagine there’s one more signing left before they have to sell to buy and can you see anyone going after Kepa? After last season they’ll never make the amount they spent on him, they’d be lucky to get a quarter of it.

09 Jun 2020 11:12:30
Well he could also not spend a penny and suck everything form the club which he doesn’t and that’s the point. He makes funds available for his manager every year. And the only way you could challenge is to have a group of quality players. There is no substitute of quality.
I am sure if needed they would sell Kepa to bring someone in. They still have many players to offload, Bako, Mitchy, Emerson, Alonso. All could bring them money.
Our state is terrible, other than Shaqiri we have no cash incoming.

09 Jun 2020 11:12:39
Chelsea will be right up there challenging next season imo and they are getting some class players in. City will strengthen also no doubt, If our strategy is to promote the likes of Williams, Jones etc I’m all for it but feel they would have to hit the ground running. Also feel we are a bit light on cover in the final third with the AFCON and Possibility of Shaq and Lallana leaving?

09 Jun 2020 11:30:01
Flip side of this Radio Jockey is they’ve got lots of players to offload but no one has money to spend, so they’ll either have to accept less or send them out on loan again until the market picks up.

09 Jun 2020 11:31:02
Ed002 was saying AFCON might be moved. To my mind it’s the only sensible thing to do considering everything. If that’s the case then things aren’t so bad.

Most of their fringe are attracting interests from overseas. Juventus, Inter, PSG, Monaco. Who actually have either players to trade or cash!
Ours are either heading out as free or getting loan extension with in the PL. (exception of Grujic and Shaqiri)

09 Jun 2020 12:24:11
Chelsea need to at least improve in the following positions before they are challenging.

Goalkeeper
Right Back
Left Back

And at least another winger.

09 Jun 2020 13:33:24
Chelsea's owner doesn't pump money into the club anymore and Havertz is a very good player but nowhere near Zidane's level, at least yet!

09 Jun 2020 16:01:31
Looking at what Chelsea are selling it’s not going to make a lot of money. Bakayoko, Barkley, Emerson, Zapacosta, Rahman, Moses and Drinkwater aren’t going to have buyers queuing around the block and I’d contend that Chelsea will need to cut their losses on most of that group.

09 Jun 2020 19:57:47
Oh Harry, your sweet Chelsea will definitely be better than this season no doubt cos Werner will definitely make them better. Now to say they will challenge us for the PL next season, I doubt it. Why? Simple.

They are FORTY points behind us right now and if it stays that way, how are they going to make up that gap esp. since Klopp keeps evolving his tactics, systems and tactical acumen and NONE of our big stars are leaving this summer? How are they going to catch that make up that gap with that dreadful GK and defence they have? Sorry bor BUT chill out with that whole bigging up Chelsea stuff cos reality does not bear any of that out.

You also do remember that it took LFC 2 years and a huge investments to catch City that had a smaller gap than we currently have over them (26 point gap the first season, 1 point the second and then now) . I'll believe it when I see it next season.
