Ed's just curious what your opinion is on Dembele at Barca. Is he one of those players that just had one great season and got a big move to a desperate Club or will be come good and convert his promise and questionable attitude into a consistent player at the top level? I never thought he was going to be suited to Barca's style so I couldn't understand the move at the time.

Obviously very quick feet and turn of pace; would be fit in in the premiership? at LFC? Thank you for your time and wonderful site.

{Ed001's Note - I don't think he has the right attitude to ever make it at the top level. He doesn't work hard enough and picks up lots of injuries as a result. Terrible attitude off the pitch, doesn't fit in at all in with the type of people we have at Liverpool. Extremely immature and I doubt he will grow up in time for his career to be saved right at the top end. Seems like someone who needs to fall badly to wake up.}

Thanks Ed. Yes, am surprised to see him linked with us given his poor attitude and work ethic. Saying that Saido had some concerns also and he’s been incredible. Personally I’m really looking forward to seeing Curtis Jones and Harvey Elliot play more. They look like two exceptional talents with great attitudes. We had the pleasure of meeting Harvey and his Dad, they were incredible with my son, no problem to stop and chat, sign a few bits, take some pictures, it was really refreshing to see it.

{Ed001's Note - there were no concerns about Mane's work ethic. The concern was that he had twice gone on strike to move to a bigger club so what would happen if say Real Madrid or Barca came in and we weren't doing so well was the worry. At the time we bought him, we were not competing at the top table. Dembele is not the same at all. Yes he caused issues to get a move to Barca, which is similar, but he also lacks effort in training and on the pitch. He also has been a complete tit as a person, something Mane has never done. Mane never just vanished after trashing his apartment leaving a huge mess behind and a landlord chasing him for compo, for example. Mane threw his toys out of the pram to get moves, but he never literally skipped out on his current club to get the move. Dembele literally just did a midnight flit.

Is Elliott not set for Blackpool next season on loan? I am sure I remember that deal being done?}

That would be interesting Ed1 on Elliot a full season of football I think could really see him excel as a player. He has great natural technique that in time will be even better.

Isn’t he too young for a loan currently?

{Ed002's Note - And Liverpool are responsible for his schooling.}

Is that standard for youth transfers Ed that we must agree on the educational path also? Assume players of that age don't go to mainstream education paths so does the club pay to educate them Privately?

Always think it should be something encouraged just in case a player doesn't make it playing football.

Also always forget just how young Elliot is!

{Ed002's Note - Education must be addressed until 18.}

Thanks.

Dembele has the type of attitude, work ethic and mentality that Klopp completely despises. Hence why I still think us being linked with him is a farce and recycled transfer rubbish.

Players do grow up though. It happens and they turn their lives and game around.

There’s no sign of it with Dembele. He’s more likely to go the way of Balotelli than Anelka.

15 Jun 2020 18:05:28
Robbie, Dembele has been doing these shannanigans for the past 4 years now with no end in sight. Like 6 Times said, Anelka and Balotelli never grew up and their careers fizzled out with a wimp.

If Dembele does not as you say "change and grow up" fast, he will just be the latest version of a talented footballer whose career would be looked upon with pity and a "what might have been" epilogue. You can lead a horse to the bank of a river, you cannot force it to drink.

I'll never forget when Barcelona unveiled dembele and he couldn't manage 1 keep uppy. It was so funny. It was like dembele couldn't make it so they brought in a look like. YouTube it if you haven't seen it. I'd have been worried from day 1 of I were barca.
