The need for a competent backup to Robertson should be even more apparent now. Yes, Gomez can fill in on the LB side, but I would much rather him play at FB or backup Matip just so that Lovren doesn't come in. And you all know why. Larouci should have been on the bench. It's approaching the ridiculous if you're sending in Milner, then Gomez and then maybe Henderson to fill in at LB. All this surely causes disruption to the team's play and tactics.

Completely agree. Other concern is Minimino currently looks too lightweight for the premier league.

My biggest gripe was the number of passes that went behind the player who was receiving it. I know it wasn't going to be as fluent as when the season ended, but I did expect the passes to have been better.

Keep dreaming one day Klopp going to buy a left back or a right back! The need was evident from last year and he ignored it to play Gomez and Milner. Have you ever thought why we extended Milner’s contract? There is no place for the veteran if not for covering Robertson.

Minamino and Firmino don’t work together for me, it’s one or the other.
They’re too alike in their style and the Japanese is not out and out quick enough to play wide.
It was just the wrong balance up front last night imo.

Sorry radio jock but milner is absolutely brilliant. He was massive in us winning the ucl last year. He's the penalty taker. Yes he's played less games this season but that's to be expected. I'm never worried by mill's inclusion.

Correct juicer. Why anyone thinks minamino is anything but a number 10 is beyond me. In time he might become a Firmino replacement but as of now, he’s a 10 and only a 10.

I acctually thought minamino had played okay the first half. Doesn't matter if he is too lightweight give him time and he will adapt.

It is not about how good or how awful he is! He occupies a space in the side and unfortunately when all are fit he doesn’t get a sniff in the midfield. So you got to keep him for other positions which is the left back / Right back. Sell him and then there is a vacancy to bring one in! If not forget it.

I'm not slating mino for the sake of it Barry mate. I like him as a player, he just had a poor game and wasn't played in his strongest position.

Ed01 said he suspected mino might be Bobby's long term replacement. I admit i wasn't sure when I read that but seeing his style last night I agree. He likes to come deep to collect the ball and looks like he can play cute football around the box. He was also drawn centrally a lot. I think he's going to end up a great Liverpool player. He just had a poor game (not terrible but not amazing) and there's nothing wrong with pointing that out.

{Ed001's Note - I don't think anyone can hold their hands up and say I played well last night. I love Trent but his delivery was shocking, it will all come back though as they get back up to speed. It was just 11 players rusty after a longer lay off than they have ever had before. You don't have as long in the summer!}

Yeah, was clear to see eh ed01. Its a good point that puts us a step closer to the title. I can't imagine anyone in the world would bet against us winning at least one of our remaining games and drawing two more. I 2as a bit worried that we might lose and then a bit of bad luck against Palace and a loss at the ethiad would knock the confidence and put a small, small cloud of doubt in the mind. We are Liverpool and we should have won the prem at least 3 times since the name change. Its like my mind can't accept that we're going to win it.
