One thing with this liverpool team that goes unmentioned is the desire an spirit :_
Klopp 1st season got too final of Europa we lost then we pick ourselves up.
2nd season finish 4th get in champions league pick ourselves up
3rd season qualify in champs league cruelly beat in champs league but we pick ourselves up .
4th win champs league an miss out by a fraction in league we pick ourselves up.
5th on verge of winning league . The ability too suck it up each season pick ourselves up an go one better makes me so proud. Most teams would be forgiven for feeling sorry for themselves , this team strives too be better which is priceless.

Looking to the future, can Klopp now win silverware every year and create a dynasty over next 5-10 years a bit like the 70’s and 80’s. I think he’s good enough to do this. Then. can he line up a successor who can continue his dynasty. That will put him on par with Shankly. Barnes said last night that even in the late 80’s it felt like they were still playing for Shanks. Imagine being 10-15 trophies ahead of **** again. Klopp is a one off. We need to make sure we give him whatever he needs to turn us back into serial winners for the next few decades. And whilst we are winning we can’t stand still as a club like we did with Moore’s. Get the stadium capacity up, and market out of us all over the world. We have to make the most out of his period.

War machine - as we don’t and won’t have a squad as deep as city’s Klopp will put all eggs in CL and PL like he has to date. This means realistically we will only have two titles to go for which makes it harder. ManU, Chelsea and City are more likely to win a trophy each year as focus on all competitions more than Klopp due to more funds to have deeper squad depth.

Whether that is right Strategy or not is completely up for debate.

And that leads us too the next salute, we have generated our position in the league organically as can be through performance right from when we got beat by Sevilla in Europa final obviously with jurgen at the wheel of the ship we have learnt too believe again because before that we were wondering if we would ever see us winning anything . Fighting against these teams with endless pockets is not easy as we ain't in the same ball park financially .

Its going to be hard too dominate as there are teams with an advantage financially, as seen with the current situation as ed 02 has pointed out numerous occasions we don't have money too spend after a very productive couple of seasons due too virus, proper soda law for us .

I think it’s the right strategy to target the trophies the bring in the most prestige and money, City can have the League Cup and FA Cup, but they’re nowhere in terms of how many times they’ve been champions of England or Europe.

Very interesting thread going on here and I love the conversation. Firstly, I think the ability of the team to pick itself up has a lot to do with the mental make-up of the players originally.
When you know how Bobbie grew up in a crime-riddled neighborhood, one where football saved him for being a gangbanger, in jail or dead.

Or when you learn that VVD was lying in a hospital hoping he would not lose his life or Mane who left his village in Senegal in search of his dream of playing football against his fam's wishes. Or Gini for whom football was forced on him by his granma to keep him off the streets. Or Salah who at 14 had to do 9 hour round trips to traing in Cairo. Or Lovren who was a refugee. And I can go on.

With all this in mind, it should not surprise you with the mental toughness our team shows in the face of disappointment. IMO, it is cos they have been thru WAY worse than losing a game or a final so it does not phase them that much. Thsi is why I admire them so much for who they are and these life lessons have served them well in their careers.

As for how or whether Klopp can win the "lesser trophies" like the FA Cup or League Cup, I believe he does his best with what he has to try to win them BUT not sure he would break his neck trying to win trophies that really, a lot of other teams outside the top 6 don't care for.

Happy for us to concentrate our efforts on winning the league and the Champions League each year.

Then win the World Club Cup and the Europa Super Cup. That’s enough silverware each season.

If it means losing out on League Cup and FA Cup then that’s fine with me.

Keep Klopp and his coaching staff happy and motivated and the rest will follow.

We will eventually overtake Man United financially as well as on the pitch. Then watch us go.
