Ed002, aside from your opinions on tapping up side ect, I’d love to know your opinion on Klopp the football manager and tactician, and how is he thought of by other elite clubs?

Many thanks.

{Ed002's Note - Klopp is seen as a very likeable chap but he relies on the expertise of the likes of Buval and Lijnders for tactical strategy - which is fine. He has been persuaded to buy players by scouts (such as Salah) which shows he listens. He is a very good man manager so can motivate players - probably his greatest asset and something that is pretty rare in the game.}

Agree2 Disagree0

He’s already said he’s nottin with out his back room staff! I just love the man and players seem to want to die for him!

Disagree with you on this ed002- Klopp is so much more than a man manager/ motivater, you need the full package to be as successful as he has with us. Do you not think he accessed the club before signed and his ideas changed the mind set of the club, players etc. Improved players Strengths and weaknesses, identified there best position And gave them the tactical knowledge and improved decision making And the philosophy of the team. Desist on making and ruthless when it comes to moving players on and bringing in a new player ie Allison/ karius, the system is down to Klopp yes he gets input but take him out would we be near as successful?

{Ed002's Note - I appreciate the truth does not necessarily work with some of the supporters.}

Agree with ed here, he's a fantastic manager which means that he uses the resources at his disposal such as scouts, tacticians etc.

I think for me as much as I love klopp at the club it shows pep lijnders could be a great to take over after klopp.

{Ed0666's Note - I would also like to see pep given an opportunity jordz

A top CEO was once asked about the secret of his success. He replied that he put a top team around him and basically made himself redundant. Think this applies to many top managers especially with Liverpool looking back to the bootroom succession line. Klopp has created that same environment and long may it continue. Onwards and upwards.

Hi Ed,
Appreciate your comments about Jurgen. Would love to hear how you would compare Klopp to the other successful managers (Ferguson, Mourinho etc) . What traits are common between them and what sets them apart?

Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - I am not the one to be comparing coaches.}

Not disagreeing but I think the team evolved when but buvac left from full throttle or heavy metal (whatever you want to call it ) to a more patient, possession based team, would this be klopps idea or more to do with pep ljinders?

{Ed002's Note - I really don't know.}

I think being able to successfully delegate is a tremendous managerial skill, as well as being humble enough to listen to other coaches opinions. That’s what makes the great managers, Shankly, Paisley, Ferguson, Clough, et al, all delegated their workload, listened and acted on the advice of their coaching staff and were great motivators and leaders. Klopp is one of the greats, we’re lucky to have him.

Ed-ward, Ed02 is BANG on regarding Klopp. I saw a youtube documentary describing Klopp and what led FSG to take him on as manager and all the traits that Ed02 mentioned about Klopp were also mentioned there.

Klopp in facts, says all the time that he is not a genius and does not pretend to be one. He believes that "The biggest strength of any leader is to surround yourself with people who are stronger in certain areas than you are". That is Klopp in a nutshell.
