Trying not to be biased, big Harry is a good cb. The fact he equated to gomez and not vvd say a lot. Both on top of their game there isn't much in it tbh, gomez is more consistent but Harry is injured less. One cost over 80mil, the other less than 5mil I think.

Fernandes is good though isn't he. Hate to say it but I think that was an important signing for utd. They look much better with him in the side.

Joe Gomez has everything it takes to be a top, top defender and will only get better with time. Unfortunately for us he has been in poor form both before and after lockdown in my opinion.

Maguire is a good CB at best, IMO. His flaws are still there for everyone to see and IMO, OGS is not the type of manager that can improve him, neither is Lindelof the type of CB that can make him better, IMO.

Now is he better than Gomez? In terms of raw ability and talent, not even close. Gomez has the potential to be great when he gets to Maguire's age cos there is nothing he lacks apart from experience at the highest level. Maguire will not get better under a limited manager like OGS, IMO. He may need to improve without OGS's input.

IMO, Maguire gets a lot of hype cos he's English cos on their best form, Maguire is not even better than Matip. Now, if he is the best England can offer at CB right now (Maguire) then it just shows the dearth of top English CB's at the moment.

Robbie - Sakho's quick, strong, brave. With proper work on reading the game from his coaches he could've been very good. But he either didn't get it or it didn't sink in. He had two main problems on the pitch with us. First was rashness, used to frequently try go flying in to get to the ball first even when it was impossible, leading to fouls and getting spun by clever forwards. And second is every now and then he thinks he's 2004 vintage Cristiano Ronaldo and starts twisting and turning on ball before falling over. Just seems to have gotten worse at Palace. The man stays on feet less than an ice-staking Djimi Traore.

As for United, the question mark I have over them is consistency. Fernandes and Rashford appear to be genuinely good players. Everyone else, I wonder are they going to deliver consistently over a season. Example: Martial's playing well now. But his goal record at Man U to date is about the same as Kuyt's (who was criticised for not scoring enough) was for us. Start of this season he scored 2 league goals between the middle of August and St. Stephen's Day. And he doesn't offer all that much when not scoring. Not sure they can afford for someone to go missing like that. The de Gea, Maguire and Lindelof triangle at the back is not title winning quality either.
