Ed01 sorry if it's silly but wasn't gomez little bit too isolated yesterday? and he was dropping back little too much. if el gazhi had crossed the ball instead of shooting at ali it would have been an open header for them thanks for the hard work.

{Ed001's Note - yes he was doing the usual thing a player does when they are not full of confidence and dropping off too early. He just needed to hold a little longer and a lot of their attacks would have been offside. It is something he will learn from I am sure.}

He was poor against city as were many but he in particular was bad and I personally love him as a CENTER half

However he does need to make the next step to becoming a man and a leader hopefully he gather confidence quick and finished the season strong a lnd prove his quality.

I think he allowed the Sterling penalty incident to get to him a bit too much cos before that he was having a good game so hopefully, he can get thru it with time. To me, Gomez is a confidence player and when his head is right and full of confidence, even VVD takes a back seat to him, which is insane in itself and just shows the potential and immense ability and upside he has as a CB.

just had a look and see Joe is still 23! Not discounting that he eneds to develop in leadership, mentality etc. But equally acknowledging that these things usually develop with time. having him next to VVD will be a massive help for his development and is why I am hopeful whoever we bring in at CB is someone that won't take away from Joe. Yes he has to earn his spot, but I think there is a difference in message being sent to Joe if we splash cash on DC or Koulibaly for example. and as someone else said he is a confidence player and imo we should play to that and beef up his confidence but promoting him as the best 1st option to partner VVD.
