Good afternoon Ed001; something I'm wondering about. It baffles me that a player who looked so good against us with Salzburg is not showing anything near that in terms of form, for us. Talking about Minamino, of course. Is it that the adaptation period is still not enough or is it the system we play with (which is not exactly completely opposite to how Salzburg play)? He seems very lively when he comes on and his work rate can't be faulted, but somehow seems a split second too late with goal scoring chances.

{Ed001's Note - partly those things and partly learning to play with the players around him. He knew the players at RBS well, so he could match up his runs with theirs and knew what pass he was intending to make before he even received the ball. Now he has to look and think about what to do before doing it. It will come. That is why making so few changes to the team has worked so well for us this season and we strolled away with the title. Every player knew what their teammates were going to do and so it is very rare players trip over each others runs or make passes to where they thought a player would run only for the player not to make the run.}

His attitude, work rate, matched with his ability, working under Klopp an Pep, having role models like Firmino, Salah, Mane. I can't see him not coming good to be honest. With time I think we'll have a player on our hands.

{Ed001's Note - me too. We have seen with player after player that it takes them time to find their feet in our team. It is still early days for Taki.}

Thanks Ed 001 👍.

{Ed001's Note - very welcome mate.}

He played attacking midfield against us at Anfield, we’re playing him out of position. He isn’t quick enough or strong enough to play in this Liverpool front 3, it’s like trying to tell David Silva to be Mo Salah. It’s not happening.

{Ed001's Note - you are wrong actually. He played wide forward against us. Klopp believes he is better suited to the Firmino role though.}

It took Gundogan 6 months allegedly to get a hang of the Klopp system at Dortmund. In fact Gundogan reportedly, used to go sit high up in the stands so he can see how that relentless BVB team move around. Taki's manager at RBS, Jesse Marsch said he is more of the Firmino model than a Salah or Mane and that is what Klopp is molding him to be at this time.

Not bothered with Taki cos we have seen what he can do when in full form and full flight, ripping VVD and our defence at will in the CL game. He just needs time to adjust to his surroundings and like Klopp says each time he signs a player, "We did not sign him for this season. We signed him for 4 years". Taki will be fine cos he is smart, intelligent and gifted and played in the same system we play at RBS.

And add to that - one of the most important attributes for success, if not the most important - willing to work hard. He comes across as one who gives his all. I am so desperate to see him score. Hope the lad opens his account before the end of the season.

The problem for taki is when does he get a run of form to get used to playing with his team mates or find some form.

Jordz, his time will come. Give it time cos Klopp has a plan for him.

I fully predict minamino blossoming in this team. Far too many are making up their mind simply comparing his one game versus us against his rare cameos since joining. In that context fabinho, OX, firmino, matip, hendo would have written off equally in their early months under klopp. You'd be a fool to not see the high likelihood of him succeeding for us.
