Here's a competition lads and lasses how many points do you think we will win the title by next season? 20 or more?

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Jul 2020 09:14:06
Less. It will be far far closer next year. Guardiola and Lampard have a lot to prove. Solskjaer will continue to stumble along.

I'm not sure Chelsea will be up there at the end of the season? They are making the mistake of buying attacking players when its the defence they need sorting out.

10 Jul 2020 09:45:40
One of them but for me, it'll be very similar to this season. City will always be up there but more teams are finally attacking them that bit more now, which has proved to weaken them.

Chelsea are up and coming again but aren't ready to challenge for the title yet, Liverpool and City are miles ahead.

Having said all of that, will we have a season as good as this one next? I highly doubt that but I do think we'll fly with it again. How good Liverpool has been this season is very hard to beat but I'm going to throw it out there, we'll be top by about 10 points.

10 Jul 2020 10:24:45
Let's not get ahead of ourselves lad's and that's one thing we don't want is being labelled cocky, confident yes but not cocky.

10 Jul 2020 10:37:15
I see it as a 2 horse race, depends who City bring in this summer. I expect a bit of chop and change there whereas we are more or less ready to go again.

For me them losing David Silva is already a significant blow. They've lost Sane. Defence needs reshaping, despite pep already spending a absurd amount of money on defenders.

We're clear favourites imo but time will tell I'm looking forward to it already!

I would love to beat city to the title by a single point, with the winning goal being a 30 yard screamer by joe Gomez.
Just so they know how that feels.

10 Jul 2020 11:11:56
Like Barry, I think you need to wind in your cockiness- it's a bad trait and not on keeping with the whole ethos of the club. Each game as it comes and see where we are at the end. A little respect goes a long way.

10 Jul 2020 11:29:12
Yes yes, the ethos of the club is to hold our heads down all the time and refrain from showing any support or will to win. You've nailed it perfectly.

10 Jul 2020 12:07:25
Sorry but there's a difference from supporting your club and showing a will to win than saying how much will we win the league by next season that is just asking to be labelled idiot's. Also isn't it what we used to call that bunch up the road cause of their attitude for years.

10 Jul 2020 12:19:45
I think city will be worse next season. Defence is terrible and a lot of their players r overrated imo like sterling, Jesus, Gündoğan and a lot of their players r knocking on abit also like Agüero.

{Ed002's Note - Manchester City are putting a huge amount of effort in to recruiting two or three high-end additions.}

10 Jul 2020 12:22:12
I personally think it will be very difficult to win the league next season, especially with city, Chelsea, and utd looking to strengthen and we aren’tt. The more appropriate question would be do you think we will win the league next season, rather than how many point we will win it by.

10 Jul 2020 12:56:21
I’d love to know how City are going to explain to UEFA that despite being under investigation they haven’t broken any rules as that would be preposterous, and that the money they spend is completely in keeping with FFP considering the hit that everyones finances will be taking from CV.

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea what you are talking about. What investigation are you referring to - obviously not the one CAS are ruling on on Monday? There is no question about the Manchester City money.}

10 Jul 2020 13:03:41
They need them ed mate.

10 Jul 2020 13:59:40
I see us finishing third next season behind City and Chelsea. Just can’t see our team maintaining this standard for another full season and I’m not sure that Elliott, Williams, Etc are experienced enough to make an immediate difference.
The following season, however, we will leave all and sundry in our wake.

10 Jul 2020 14:38:50
The top teams I feel will all take a lot of points off each other next year as they will be a lot closer quality wise. If I was a betting man I'd say ManCity will win and possibly by a fair margin, us 2nd, ManU 3rd and Chelsea 4th.

However, I'm not a betting man so us by +1 GD scored in the 97th minute away at Old Trafford, over head kick going wide from 20 yards by VVD with huge deflection off Maguire!

10 Jul 2020 14:50:50
I’ll take winning the league by a point next season. You get the same trophy for winning it by a point as you do by 20 points. Humility is also important. It’s not hard to see why other fans hate LFC fans. Nothing like getting ahead of ourselves. Defending a title is totally different to winning one. We are everyone’s cup final anyway because we are the team clubs want to beat. Next season we will be an even bigger cup final for them.

Idreamofgini's post hit me on the face like ice cold water. Our standard has ddopped in our last? 10 games. Loss to Athletico, Watford and city. Draw to everton. Maybe it will be hard to keep up this standard for another year!

But Robbo and Trent are still going to bd bombing forward, becker is still on goal and vvd is still in ddfence. Hendo is still our captain and we still have the best front 3 on the wofld. Nk we will be up there again. 1st or 2nd. It'll be closer though, either way.
