Really sad news about Jack Carlton this morning. Great memories of some big wins for his Ireland team between euro 88 and USA 94.

A sad day indeed. A great innings and it seems he brought a lot of joy to an incredible amount of people. Some achievement. Another one who was overlooked for a thoroughly deserved knighthood.

Very much so, great player too.
Beloved in England and Ireland, which is not easy to do.
Ed001 did a cracking piece on him last year, which is worth looking up.

Sad that the 2 brothers ended up not speaking to each other Ed001. Hopefully they had the opportunity to sort their differences before Jack's death.
He certainly changed the Republic of Ireland's fortunes. Top footballer also. RIP.
