Ed002,

Re: FFP

Ed, how much damage would this ruling, in your view, have done to the integrity of FFP?

{Ed002's Note - None whatsoever.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I think what the weirdest thing about it for me is that 2 independent body’s, those being Manchester City and CAS, both appear to understand UEFA’s rules better than UEFA.

If it was really as cut and dry from the beginning as you say Ed002, then how did UEFA not realise this and why did they spend all this time arguing this case? You would think they’d have done their due diligence that it would be held up before handing out a ban, considering they’re the ones who set the bloody rules.

{Ed002's Note - Firstly it was nothing to do with the 5 year rule, UEFA understood that and it was suimply there o support their case. The flaw was objectiveness where the case was made by the same people who tried it - and there was no way such eveidence would ever stand up to independent scrutiny. It is worth noting that both UEFA and FIFA rejected similar illegally obtained eveidence against them for other matters as nonsense - but they themselves used it.}

Ed2, did City break rules or not?

{Ed002's Note - The FFP rules? There is no evidence to say they did.}

Ed2,

Did they break the law?

{Ed002's Note - What law are you talking about?}

Seems an odd one why then City failed to cooperate with UEFA officials which oversee FFP compliance and upheld by CAS (€10 million euro fine) I mean why would a club do that if they have nothing to hide? Seems a very strange approach by the club.

{Ed002's Note - The club considered the whole issue as nonsense.}

Integrity? The FFP has no integrity to damage. People with lots of money have gotten away with much worse than a bit of cheating in sports.
It’ll be a great battle again next season should we draw them in the UCL. Liverpool and City are the best two teams in the world. BRING IT ON.

Seems fair enough Ed 👍.

13 Jul 2020 15:02:03
Do you think this whole saga about FFP might accelerate a breakaway super league Ed?

{Ed002's Note - What saga?}

13 Jul 2020 15:29:15
I guess the saga of teams being accused of breaching FFP, then UEFA not really being able to competently uphold their regulations or enforce FFP, or at least be seen to do so.

{Ed002's Note - Teams are punished all of the time - plenty get banned from UEFA competition. UEFA uphold numerous infractions every year. You seem to be just making things up.}

So, no evidence they broke FFP rules. That'll do me thanks ed.
