Wow, anyone would think we’d romped the league and won the title for the first time in 30 years on these pages 😂 it’s not like we won the champions league last season either 😂

Anyone seen Brewster’s goal last night for Swansea? Good finish. Really excited for this lad and think a full year on loan there again will see him ready to challenge in our squad the year after.

Sack Klopp. Swap VVD for David Luiz. Sell Becker and get Karius back in.

It’s clear and understandable after an incredible two years of relentless perfomances we have stepped off the gas and our game works on 100% intensity. Just a few % off our A game and we will struggle.

I’m sure after the celebrations Klopp will focus us again. Actually it’s a good thing we have dropped off now as imagine if we had no break in that intensity and had to go three seasons straight.

Already looking forward to next year. Going to be tougher but bring it on.

We only lost because of consecutive mistakes which would not have been made earlier in the campaign, I just think we’ve lost a little bit of focus. Which is natural given that we won the league with room to spare. As for Brewster, another good goal for the lad. He’s looking more and more like he could be the real deal.

{Ed001's Note - Arsenal didn't make a single chance for themselves until right near the end when we were pushing for an equaliser and leaving gaps. We created plenty of chances, we were just sloppy because the season is over for us and it is difficult to focus when you are done. I don't get why Liverpool fans are so upset. If I was an Arsenal fan I would be terrified after watching their team get destroyed by an opponent that was on the beach mentally. They look worse under Arteta than ever. They were utterly hopeless and just got one of those days when everything falls right for them, even that block by Firmino hitting the post and bouncing out.}

perfectly summed up Ed001!

{Ed001's Note - I really don't get why people are so upset. We should be celebrating the title at every game right now. Forget what happens on the pitch until next season, let's just thank these players for bringing the title back to Anfield after 30 years!}

City only reached 100 points last season because we pushed them every step of the way. It is much more difficult to keep the intensity and motivation in a one-horse race. Just enjoy the presentation next week and anyone slagging off the lads should have a word with themselves. I don’t mean you SupaReds, I just happened to tag onto your post to comment.

Do you worry the form will carry in to next season ed? Especially with not much of a break between seasons this year. Or will it be business as usual when we go again you think?

{Ed001's Note - it will be a fresh start, with the poor performances at the end of the season as a stick for Klopp to use to get them going, if anything.}

Agreed ed1 and to be honest mate I'm looking at the rest of the season purely as fitness for the lads. People forget they were out for months, the vast majority of this season we have dominated, that's enough for me but some people tend to forget that. We have nothing left to prove, let's just enjoy it.

We ARE the champions, I'll keep on cloud nine :) . A loss last night doesn't change that, how many teams would love to have the players we have? Would love to have klopp? And the owners who have done nothing but support us and got us what we've all been waiting for. A few mistakes means bugger all. If they didn't make mistakes then they aren't human.

Be happy doom and gloomers, we're in a fantastic place as a club right now, let's look forward to Chelsea and show our support.

{Ed001's Note - win, lose or draw, it is just a game now until the end of the season. We have a chance to enjoy them with nothing riding on them. No one has ever had this many games to just play after winning the title in England before, we should be enjoying it.}

Couldn’t agree more Ed001. We played well generally, but as you say, we’re on the beach mentally as we’ve won the race and I think we’ve eased off the throttle. Can’t blame them really. I’m confident if that was first game of the season we’d have been comfortable winners. These boys have brought back the title so deserve a bit of slack!

{Ed001's Note - exactly. We really can't criticise Alisson and Virgil after the way they have performed! We should really just be thankful they are getting their mistakes in now while it doesn't matter.}

16 Jul 2020 11:35:58
I think your spot on ed001, I was reading comments online about arsenal fans loving the performance when they only had two shots which where pretty much open nets and then decided to park the bus foul and get their players to dive at every occasion, it was more of a mourinho performance than anything else. It showed arsenal are no longer a team who can play football to win games they have to cheat to do it, they have become everything they hated under arteta.

{Ed001's Note - I don't think they did try to park the bus, they were just abysmal, as they have been consistently under Arteta.}

16 Jul 2020 11:48:00
Yeah suppose you could say this forms part of our preseason in a way. Hopefully you're right ed.

16 Jul 2020 13:04:08
Ederson getting chipped from 40 yards against Southampton was a worse mistake in my opinion. Sure Klopp would have given them the hairdryer treatment in any case, Alisson and Virg have been top notch all season when it mattered so they’re entitled to a bad day at the office.

16 Jul 2020 13:04:32
Redmersey don't worry I'm sure posters will realise I was parodying the predictable doom merchants after we lost one game even though we are champions by miles :)

16 Jul 2020 13:21:11
Ed, I agree 100% on your assessment of Arsenal. City will absolutely crush them this weekend.

16 Jul 2020 13:18:26
Spot on Ed001, It was such an odd game as Arsenal were awful yet ended up winning. Not one of my Gooner friends have been on my back about the game, so that sums it up for me. They are a really poor side and if Ed 002 has it right they are not in position to buy their way out of the mess they are currently in. As for us, we are defiantly half way to the beach right now and why not, we're already champions. keep on saying it, champions. roll on next season now :-)

{Ed001's Note - exactly mate. Enjoy being champions as it only lasts until the season ends and then we are just another challenger.}

I missed the first half. But what I saw in the second half was us completely dominant. The goals wouldn't come though. It happens, especially when we don't need the win.
